Christian actor/director Sylvester Stallone’s hit show Tulsa King returned for season 2 earlier this month with a deafening bang. According to Paramount Global, the show broke its record with the premiere episode, which drew 2 million global views on its first day.
Tulsa King Shatters Record
Since that first day, the premiere episode has amassed 5.4 million active sub households. This term is essentially the streaming equivalent of “viewers”.
“Tulsa King’s return shattered records with 2M active sub households on premiere day and over 5M globally for the week, fueling Paramount+’s continued momentum as the fastest growing SVOD four years in a row,” Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President/CEO, Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios told Deadline.
“The show’s success is a testament to the combination of Sly’s star power and swagger coupled with Terry Winter’s gifted writing and the unique world building that only Taylor Sheridan can do,” he added.

Season 2 Of Tulsa King Premiere
Season 2 of Tulsa King premiered on September 15. Paramount has said that the premiere grew 934% compared to Season 1 in social engagements in the first seven days.
“It’s tremendous to see the premiere resonate with a record number of viewers,” Jeff Grossman, Executive Vice President, Programming, Paramount+ said in a statement. “Stallone makes the role of Dwight Manfredi irresistibly compelling, and he is complemented by a phenomenal ensemble cast. We can’t wait to share what his unlikely crew and their formidable adversaries are up to this season.”
Tulsa King’s executive producer David C. Glasser celebrated the success of season 2 as well.
“Watching the rise of Tulsa King has been incredible,” he gushed. “This is one of those projects where you watch the idea become a reality and along the way you know that if all the pieces come together it’s going to be a big success. Tulsa King is one of those projects and partnering with Sylvester Stallone, Taylor Sheridan, Terence Winter and all the cast and crew behind it has been a true blessing.”
Season 2 of Tulsa King sees Stallone’s character of Dwight continue expanding his criminal empire in Tulsa. New episodes drop each week on Sundays.

Stallone Speaks Out
As for Stallone, he’s happy about the success of Tulsa King as well.
“I am elated and so proud of our cast because our show has gone up 75% over last year which is unheard of, and Season 2 got 100% on ROTTEN TOMATOES!” he wrote on Instagram. “Also it’s the Second most popular show in the WORLD across all streaming services! Thank you so much and we are working on the third season at this moment.”
“Over 5 million viewers in the first week! To say I am grateful is an understatement,” Stallone later added in a separate post. “Grateful for the cast and crew, but especially thankful to the amazing fans and supporters who are tuning in for season 2. It’s only the beginning and I can’t wait for you to see how it unfolds. I don’t want to brag, but the next episode 3 is the best we’ve ever done! Keep punching.”
