A group of celebrities including Scott Baio, Dean Cain, Kristy Swanson, and Isaiah Washington participated in a new documentary called Trump Vs. Hollywood. As you know, President Donald Trump has very few supporters in the radically liberal world of Hollywood, where expressing even a mildly conservative view is considered to be risky to one’s career.
The documentary explores this hatred that the entertainment world has for Trump by sitting down with some of the actors who are brave enough to be open about their conservative political views.
Documentary Explores Hollywood’s Hatred For Trump
The movie was made by Daphne Barak, who was a delegate for Trump at both the 2016 and 2020 Republican National Conventions.
“I have known him since my early twenties, when I came from Israel and became an interviewer in New York, working for Fox, New York Daily News and then the New York Post,” Barak told Yahoo News. “We have trust and respect for each other.”
Barak, who once supported Hillary Clinton, said she was inspired to make the movie after seeing how divided the nation had become.
“Trump’s inauguration did not have the Hollywood A-listers who decorated Obama’s or [Clinton’s],” Barak said. “For me, moving in between these two worlds, it was clear that Washington, D.C. and Hollywood were no longer mixing… they were at war.”
Actors Speak Out About Trump Support
The documentary’s first trailer, which was released this week, showed the stars being interviewed about Trump as well as about what it is like to be a conservative in Hollywood.
“There’s no compassion. They’re so hypocritical, it’s unreal. They just don’t like the man,” said Dean Cain, who is best known for playing Superman in the television show “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman.”

Scott Baio of “Happy Days” and “Charles In Charge” fame admitted that he’s effectively been blacklisted by Hollywood for supporting Trump.
“If you’re not hiring me because I’m a conservative, shame on you. If there’s a civil war, then don’t forget who has all the guns,” Baio said. “It bothers me that people won’t speak to me, because I’m a Trump guy.”
Kristy Swanson, who starred in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, is hoping that things will change in the future.
“I feel that it’s time to set the example of let’s just all get along, ya know?” she said. “We can learn from each other. We don’t have to hate each other.”
Washington’s Theory As To Why Hollywood Hates Trump
As for Isaiah Washington, who previously starred in “Grey’s Anatomy,” he has a theory as to why Hollywood hates Trump.
“So what I’ve seen with the media, who is notorious for having a nasty, dirty, low-life Hollyweird behavior, attack this man because he’s the president, I begin to put it together: Ah, he knows their secrets. I would be a little nervous too,” he explained.
We applaud these stars for being brave enough to be open about their support for the president. We need more people in Hollywood like them!
