As millions of Americans currently self-isolate at home amid the coronavirus pandemic, narcissistic Hollywood stars flood social media with videos they believe show the world just how much they care about defeating the virus. One Hollywood A-lister, however, sees right through this blatant self-promotion and narcissism. Ryan Reynolds is known for his biting sarcasm and certainly puts it to good use in this instance.
Ryan Reynolds Mocks Hollywood Stars’ Coronavirus Videos
Comedic actor Ryan Reynolds, widely known from movies like Deadpool and The Proposal, just posted a video to Twitter in which he calls out celebrities for shamelessly using this world crisis to gain attention for themselves.
Reynolds’ sarcasm shines through before the video even starts thanks to his caption, “Another important message from an important celebrity.”
“I think in times of crisis, I think we all know that it’s the celebrities we count on most. They’re the ones that are going to get us through this,” Reynolds said sarcastically in the video.
“Right after healthcare workers, of course,” he added. “First responders. People who work in essential services. Ping-pong players. Mannequins — they’re great. Childhood imaginary friends, sure. Like 400 other types of people.”

Ryan Reynolds Gets Serious About Coronavirus
Reynolds concluded his video with a serious message to fans.
“Look, stay at home. Practice social distancing. Wash your hands. We are going to get through this thing. We are going to get through this thing together,” he said.

This comes after the entire entertainment industry has virtually shut down due to the virus.
Hollywood stars have since shown that they can’t handle not being the center of attention for even a minute by constantly posting videos of themselves on social media giving their thoughts on the crisis that absolutely nobody asked for.
Madonna’s Crazy Coronavirus Response
One of the most obnoxious examples of a celebrity’s response to coronavirus came from the pop star Madonna. The “Like A Virgin” singer posted a bizarre video of herself nude in a bathtub addressing the pandemic.
Madonna actually had the nerve to say that “what’s wonderful” about coronavirus is that “it’s made us all equal in many ways.”
“That’s the thing about COVID-19. It doesn’t care how smart you are, where you live, how old you are, what amazing stories you can tell. It’s the great equalizer and what’s terrible about is it what’s great about it,” Madonna said. “What’s terrible about it is that it’s made us all equal in many ways and what’s wonderful about it, is that it’s made us all equal in many ways.”
Wow. The Queen of Pop just schooled the world on the wonderful benefits of this deadly pandemic virus. Thank, Madonna. Not tone deaf at all.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Madonna said something crazy and it certainly won’t be the last.

This is exactly the kind of self-centered, out-of-touch with reality celebrity coronavirus response video that Reynolds is trying to address.
Not All Hollywood Elite Are Equal
To be fair, Ryan Reynolds isn’t the only celebrity breaking through the noise. Some celebrities have shared comical or uplifiting PSAs rather than tone deaf vanity projects. Like comedic legend Mel Brooks and ‘The Terminator’ Arnold Schwarzenegger. Both posted videos aimed at bringing people together and setting a good example.
It was a joy to see the 93-year-old Brooks joke around with his son. Even better, was watching Arnold snack at home with his best pals – a miniature horse and donkey.

So there is light in the darkness, and not every Hollywood star is self-centered or out-of-touch.
Today and always, we need more people like Ryan Reynolds in Hollywood, and a whole lot less Madonnas!
