Roseanne Barr Back To Comedy Nearly Five Years After Being Fired By ABC – First Stand-Up Special In 16 Years To Stream On Fox Nation

Roseanne Barr is finally making her comeback to the world of comedy five years after being fired by ABC, as it’s just been announced that she’ll both produce and star in her own stand-up special early next year.

Barr Scores New Comedy Special

Daily Mail reported that Barr’s new stand-up — simply named “A Roseanne Comedy Special” — will be premiering on Fox Nation next year with “no subjects off limits.” The comedy special, which will run for one hour, will be Barr’s first in 16 years.

“Roseanne is a comedy icon whose humor connects with the American audience like no other,” said Jason Klarman, president of Fox Nation.

“Her ability to channel the challenges of everyday people and find the humor in all has earned her the passionate following of millions of dedicated fans,” he added.

Barr’s Firing From ABC

Barr, 69, has not been on television since her controversial firing by ABC back in May of 2018 over a tweet targeting Barack Obama’s senior advisor Valerie Jarrett that many claimed was “racist.” In the tweet, Barr wrote that Jarrett looked like “Muslim brotherhood and planet of the apes had a baby.”

This was just after the success of the reboot of her sitcom “Roseanne,” and the “woke” mob wasted no time in sharpening their pitchforks and going after Barr; a conservative who openly supported Donald Trump. Barr tried to defend herself — claiming she didn’t know Jarrett was black and that her controversial tweet was made during an “Ambien fog” — but the damage was done and she quickly became a victim of cancel culture.

“When it happened it was like I thought I was gonna lose my life,” she later recalled. It was devastating and horrible and is unprecedented too that they would do that to me.”

Barr Thinks Supporting Trump Got Her Fired

Barr went on to say that she believes it was her support for Trump that really got her fired.

“All of Hollywood, they just hate him and they hate those of us who like him. There is no way around it,” she asserted. “So, yeah, I think they took me off because I liked him and I like him because I’m a Jew and he likes Israel.”

While ABC cancelled “Roseanne” after Barr’s firing, the network quickly rebooted the show with the rest of the cast as “The Conners.” This show killed off Barr’s beloved character by saying that she died in a drug overdose, something that enraged many fans. Barr fired back by saying that killing off her character in this way “lent an unnecessary grim and morbid dimension to an otherwise happy family show.”

Sharon Osbourne Scores Fox Nation Docuseries

Barr isn’t the only “cancelled” celebrity to be given a second chance on the Fox Nation platform. Sharon Osbourne, who was fired by CBS after she dared to defend her friend Piers Morgan — saying that he isn’t racist just because he doesn’t like Meghan Markle — has a four-part series that will debut on Fox Nation on September 26. The docuseries is called “To Hell & Back,” and it will chronicle Osbourne’s experiences in the media and with cancel culture.

“I had to handle these nutcases threatening me, saying they were going to come in the night, cut my throat, cut my husband’s throat, cut my animals up,” she told Fox News.

“Fox Nation subscribers will have an unbridled look into the toll the cancel culture phenomenon had on my life and career. I hope telling my story for the first time will help audiences understand the impact this movement can have on individuals and families.” Osbourne added.
