Patrick Swayze lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in 2009, but his legacy lives on. The beloved film star from the 80s and 90s will be memorialized in ABC’s latest “SuperStar” Special.

Costars, friends, and family will pay tribute to the beloved and complicated man behind so many iconic movie roles.

The special will feature interviews with co-star Demi Moore and friends Liam Neeson and Leah Thompson. It will also include never-before-seen home movies of Swayze and his family raising horses and dogs on his ranches.

Overall, the special looks to pay tribute to Swayze and will show the emotional turmoil he went through in pursuit of being a world-class actor and dancer.

Patrick Swayze’s Best Movies

While we’re talking about him, let’s go down memory lane to look at some of Patrick Swayze’s best roles.

Roadhouse

When I think of effortless cool and being a bad-a$$, I think of Swayze in Roadhouse. No one has ever looked more awesome by just standing there with his arms folded.

Dirty Dancing

Nobody puts Baby in the corner.

Ghost

Point Break

I knew I had a little bit of the kamikaze in me when I watched this movie. Single-handedly responsible for me wanting to go sky-diving…eventually.

Swayze never took himself too seriously. He famously starred in a Chippendale sketch on SNL opposite Chris Farley.

Take a look:

I grew up watching all of Swayze’s movies. And, my mom’s favorite movie is Ghost and she made me watch it as a kid. A lot of it was lost on me, but as I got older and fell in love, I started to understand more and more what the movie was really about.
