For over thirteen years since the show began in 2011, The Voice has brought audiences countless memorable performances. But, a select few stand above the rest. Whether they reinvented a classic or brought depth to a modern song, these top 10 The Voice performances of all time showed us exactly why the show became such a phenomenon.
Javier Colon- “Time After Time”
First up on our list of our top 10 The Voice performances is Javier Colon‘s rendition of “Time After Time.” In Season 1, this singer took Cyndi Lauper’s classic hit and made it his own. Accompanied by just his acoustic guitar, Colon’s voice brought new emotional depth to the familiar song.
His effortless runs and pitch control showcased why he would eventually become the show’s first winner. The performance showed his ability to connect with both the song’s meaning and the audience, even getting all four coaches to turn their chairs. Adam Levine, who became Colon’s coach, was particularly moved by the performance.
This performance set the bar high. And, years later, it still stands as one of the show’s best performances.
Girl Named Tom- “Helplessly Hoping”
In a more recent season, during their blind audition in Season 21, the sibling trio Girl Named Tom delivered an unforgettable version of “Helplessly Hoping”. The group’s take on the Crosby, Stills & Nash classic showcased their harmonies and natural musical chemistry (that would later help them become the first group to win on the show.)
Their arrangement demonstrated why family bands can create something truly special. Each sibling’s voice complemented the others perfectly, creating a three-part harmony that earned them a quick four-chair turn. After deliberation, they picked Kelly Clarkson as their coach.
The audition was a historic moment for the show, proving that groups could compete just as effectively as solo artists. Girl Named Tom’s folk-like style brought something entirely new to the stage while also paving the way for future groups to follow.

Chloe Kohanski- “Landslide”
Next, Chloe Kohanski‘s performance of “Landslide” is another one of the best The Voice performances of all time. Her distinctive, raspy tone and emotional delivery of the Fleetwood Mac song showed her ability to make even the most well-known songs feel personal.
During the knockout rounds of the competition, her interpretation caught everyone’s attention. The stripped-down arrangement allowed her voice to take center stage. This performance was a turning point in Season 13, helping establish Chloe as a frontrunner (who also eventually won the competition).

Sasha Allen- “Not Ready to Make Nice”
Another of our top 10 The Voice performances of all time was by Sasha Allen in Season 4. Her rendition of “Not Ready to Make Nice” by The Chicks transformed the country hit into a soul song.
During her blind audition, Sasha took a risk by reimagining such a well-known song, but her bold choices paid off. Her stage presence and vocals brought new life to the song, leading to a battle between the coaches to win her for their team. In the end, she decided to join Adam Levine’s team.
The performance highlighted why Sasha was one of the season’s most versatile artists, making it all the way to the semifinals. It also proved that she could sing any genre while still maintaining her signature touch.
Wendy Moten- “I Will Always Love You”
When Wendy Moten sang “I Will Always Love You“, she showed what decades of experience can do on The Voice. As another former backup singer on our list, she truly nailed this performance. From the quiet moments to the big notes, she killed it all.
And, at the same time, she still honored both Dolly Parton’s original and Whitney Houston’s versions. Her coach, Blake Shelton, just stood there speechless.
In the end, it was the kind of performance that proved why having seasoned artists on this show can create magic on stage, securing a spot on our list of our top 10 The Voice performances of all time.
Amanda Brown- “Dream On”
Amanda Brown‘s performance of Aerosmith‘s “Dream On” is another one of the boldest The Voice performances of all time. The former background singer unleashed her powerhouse vocals that stunned the audience.
From the opening verses to the iconic rock scream-y finale, Amanda proved she could hold her own against any rock legend. Adam Levine’s jaw literally dropped during her final notes— which, I think, perfectly captured what everyone else was feeling, too.
This performance transformed Amanda from a talented contestant and background singer into a serious contender and solo artist. Her ability to tackle a challenging rock song showed exactly why this was one of Season 3‘s best performances.
Tessanne Chin- “I Have Nothing”
Next, Tessanne Chin‘s “I Have Nothing” was another one of the best The Voice performances of all time. It proved that choosing a Whitney Houston song isn’t always a risk… if you can nail it. In Season 5, the Jamaican powerhouse delivered what many consider one of the most vocally perfect performances on the show.
From the first note, she showed her control over the challenging melody. And, of course, this performance helped secure her win the season, too. She proved she wasn’t just among the best of the season but among the best who’ve ever stepped onto The Voice stage.
Chris Blue- “Love On the Brain”
Next, Chris Blue’s performance of Rihanna‘s “Love On the Brain” was one of the most emotional and top performances in Season 12. Starting off singing in church, this performance truly showed off his impressive range.
His coach, Alicia Keys, visibly loved the performance, watching as he hit impossible notes. At the same time, his family cheered him on from offstage. The emotion he brought to the stage that night proved why he deserved his eventual win.
Chris turned it into something that felt completely new. This was the kind of performance that showed exactly why he went from being a church worship leader to becoming The Voice champion.
Melanie Martinez- “Toxic”
While you may know her now from her solo career, Melanie Martinez also started on The Voice. During her blind audition, she gave another one of the best performances with her unique take on Britney Spears’s “Toxic.”
This was actually my first introduction to Melanie Martinez. I remember being even younger than her, watching this performance at home. Her arrangement caught the attention of three coaches. But especially Adam Levine, who became her coach, appreciating her ability to make such a well-known song completely her own.
This audition was the first glimpse of the creative artist Melanie would become. Later, she built her own very successful musical career beyond the show.

Christina Grimmie- “Hold On, We’re Going Home”
Finally, capping our list of our top ten The Voice performances is Christina Grimmie‘s “Hold On, We’re Going Home“. Her stripped-down version of Drake’s hit showcased her ability to transform modern songs into emotional piano ballads. The performance highlighted her natural talent for finding the heart of any song, regardless of genre.
With just a piano and her vocals, Christina captivated both the coaches and the audience. Her runs and vocal control demonstrated the skill that earned her a place as one of Season 6’s frontrunners.
This performance was the perfect example of the unique gift she brought to the show. Tragically, Christina passed away in 2016, but her incredible talent and spirit continue to inspire. Her ability to reimagine modern hits made her one of the most memorable contestants in the show’s history, leaving a lasting mark on The Voice stage forever.
