Korie And Sadie Robertson Are Requesting Prayers For A Very Special Reason

Korie Robertson is very passionate about foster care and adoption. She and Willie have adopted two children into their family, Will and Rowdy. When she was a child, her family also fostered children.

Korie is using her celebrity status to advocate for these kids. She and her daughter Sadie ventured to Capitol Hill for an event with the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s interns.

These interns grew up in the foster care system and they shared their stories in the hopes of making changes for other kids in need. Korie was very impressed with all of the interns. She posted a picture on Instagram asking us to pray for them.

My prayers are with this incredible group of young people today! They’re passionate, smart, driven and inspiring and they’re part of @cca_institute Foster Youth Intern program. They’ve been on Capitol Hill these past few months working, learning and advocating for other young people just like them who have grown up in the foster care system. Today they present before congress. @legitsadierob and I got to hear their presentations as they rehearsed last night. Wow! We were blown away. Some of the things they will share are hard truths. It’s the experiences they have lived and overcome to get where they are today and how we can do better. We must do better. These young people are our future. Join me in praying for them today!

The Robertsons have been very open about their adoptions in hopes of encouraging other families to also adopt. In the video below, Willie talks about how they opened their hearts to adoption.

I certainly will include these kids in my prayers. They have been through so much. Hopefully our prayers will be answered and these children will feel love and acceptance from a family that welcomes them into their homes.
