The singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson has been a single mother for nearly two years now, and while she loves her two children dearly, this role comes with its fair share of struggles.
Daily Mail reported that when asked how she spent her Mother’s Day this past weekend, Clarkson admitted that she nearly cried over the touching gift that her nanny gave her.

‘I Literally Almost Cried’
“I’m a single mom, so I’m either at work or I’m with kids,” Clarkson explained to Extra. “I literally almost cried — like, she walked into the kitchen and was like, ‘Hey, for Mother’s Day, I’m going to give you the gift of time and you can just do whatever you want.'”
Clarkson was joined in this interview by the rapper Snoop Dogg, who is her co-host on NBC’s “American Song Contest.” As a parent himself, he agreed that nothing is more important to moms and dads everywhere than time.
“No one understands how important time is,” he said.
Clarkson hadn’t planned anything for Mother’s Day, and she ended up having a blast getting a much-needed day to herself.
“I had the best day, it was amazing and I love her,” she said.

Clarkson’s Bitter Divorce
Clarkson shares a 7-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son with her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, who she filed for divorce from back in June of 2020. During their lengthy and bitter divorce, which was only recently finalized, Clarkson was opened about the toll it took on her.
“I mean, it’s no secret. My life has been a little bit of a dumpster,” she said in September of 2020, according to US Weekly. “Personally, it’s been a little hard the last couple of months. I’ve been talking to friends that have been through divorce. I don’t know how people go through that without having some kind of outlet because it is the worst thing ever for everyone involved.”

‘It’s Horrible’
“It’s horrible. There are so many hard parts. The hardest for me is the kids. That’s the hardest for me,” she added two months later. “I think as women we are trained … to take it all on and you can deal with it and you’re fine, but it’s your babies that you worry about.”
Thankfully, the divorce has now been finalized, and everyone involved can move on with their lives. We’re glad to see that Clarkson had such a good Mother’s Day, and we hope that she has many more joyful ones to come!
