As her own bitter divorce battle from her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock continues, singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson is canceling an ex with her new Christmas song “Christmas Isn’t Canceled, (Just You).”

Clarkson’s Sassy New Christmas Song

Check out the sassy new song, which is from Clarkson’s new Christmas album, below.

“I’ll be hanging every light I find in this house / Playin’ Christmas music so loud,” Clarkson sings in the chorus. “This year Christmas won’t be quite so blue / And I’m gonna shout too much and dance in the snow / Drink just enough to let us go.”

“Christmas isn’t canceled, just you,” she adds.

The song also includes such biting lines as her ex ruining “all my favorite things” and “kissing goodbye to what might have been,” along with empowering messages such as, “turns out I don’t need a thing underneath my tree.”

This single is featured on Clarkson’s new album “When Christmas Comes Around…” which is due to be released on October 15, according to Fox News

Clarkson’s Bitter Divorce

Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in June of 2020. They have two children, River, 7, and Remington, 5,.

“They clashed on so many levels, and being in quarantine together heightened their problems to the point of no return. So she filed for divorce,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time. “Everyone thought Kelly and Brandon had the perfect marriage, but they definitely didn’t. Brandon’s very laid-back, whereas Kelly’s pretty high-strung.”

Since then, the divorce has gotten nasty at times, and Clarkson has been open about how difficult it has been to co-parent with her ex.

“I know with me and Brandon, it’s just a difficult thing because we’re in different places, and it’s like, we both agree on the main things, but it’s a hard thing when you’re not together all the time, for me personally,” she said in February, according to US Weekly. “As long as you make sure it’s about the children and their best interests, then we’re both on board.”

Their “marital or domestic partnership status” will end on January 7, 2022. However, a judge signed off on the pair’s single status last month.

Clarkson Can’t Imagine Getting Married Again

Clarkson also told actress Gwyneth Paltrow that she can’t imagine ever getting married again.

“You’ve been married for two years,” she said while interviewing the actress on her eponymous talk show. “Coming from someone who’s literally amidst a divorce, I can’t even imagine doing it again. So that’s amazing that you found love, and you found the space and the vulnerability — that level to say yes, and do it again.”

While Blackstock isn’t specifically mentioned in Clarkson’s new song, it’s likely that he is the ex she is singing about when she sings the catchy tune!

We wish Clarkson the best of luck as her divorce continues, and we can’t wait to listen to her full Christmas album next month.
