Kanye West has an idea that many parents might like: the rapper turned gospel singer wants to make a Christian version of the popular video app TikTok. Parents would no longer have to be concerned about inappropriate videos that contradict or mock their faith.
TikTok is incredibly popular with teens and young adults. It allows them to create mega-viral short videos, but it has some massive problems. The most important one being that the Chinese government uses it to spy. Last month, President Trump said he wants to shut it down.

Kanye Pitches Christian Alternative To TikTok Video App
West has the idea to springboard off TikTok by creating Jesus Tok. The Christian-based video app alternative would be “safe for young children and the world.”
First and foremost, Kanye disapproved of the questionable content he saw in a lot of the videos his daughter was watching on the app.
Second, he wants to make a Christian friendly platform. So families of faith don’t have to be concerned about their children using it.
“A VISION JUST CAME TO ME… JESUS TOK I WAS WATCHING TIK TOK WITH MY DAUGHTER AND AS A CHRISTIAN FATHER I WAS DISTURBED BY A LOT OF THE CONTENT BUT I COMPLETELY LOVED THE TECHNOLOGY,” Kanye tweeted.

The recent presidential candidate followed up that tweet with a prayer asking to be able to collaborate with TikTok on this faith based ambition.
WE PRAY WE CAN COLLABORATE WITH TIK TOK TO MAKE A CHRISTIAN MONITORED VERSION THAT FEELS SAFE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN AND THE WORLD IN JESUS NAME AMEN

While the idea would likely be well received by many parents, it’s unlikely that Kanye West would actually collaborate with TikTok given the spying issue.
President Trump has already signed an executive order putting the Chinese company on the chopping block in the United States over its security issues.
His Religious Transformation
If Kanye Westhe spun this off to another platform that isn’t associated with TikTok, this could be a game changer. Imagine families using this technology to teach and learn about Jesus Christ. That is ultimately what Kanye West wants.
Of course, some detractors point out that Kanye’s old music is anything but wholesome. But as Christians, we accept that people change.
He proudly proclaims his love for God, and he includes his Christian faith in his music. Recently, Kanye learned that his ‘Jesus Is King’ album was nominated for three gospel awards.
The music mogul is working to better his life, and he wants to help others do the same. Jesus Tok could be a meaningful step in that direct for young people.
