Outspoken rap superstar and presidential candidate Kanye West let loose on the leftwing entertainment world this week, going so far as to compare the music industry and the NBA to a “modern day slave ship.”
Kanye West Trashes Universal, Sony, And NBA
Kanye took to Twitter on Monday to call out at his record labels by name. The “Jesus King” artist also took a swipe at the NBA.
“I need to see everybody’s contracts at Universal and Sony,” he tweeted. “I’m not gonna watch my people be enslaved. I’m putting my life on the line for my people. The music industry and the NBA are modern day slave ships. I’m the new Moses.”

In a tweet that has since been deleted, West said that he will not be putting out any more new music under his contract.
“I’m not putting no more music out till I’m done with my contract with Sony and Universal … On God … in Jesus name … come and get me,” West tweeted, according to Variety.
The music mogul then added, in another since-deleted tweet, “I’m the 2nd richest black man in America… I need all my people with me for us to get free.”
This isn’t the first time the 43-year-old went on a seemingly unhinged social media rant. Kanye has horrified his wife Kim Kardashian with previous outbursts.
No Regrets
Kanye West appeared to have no regrets about calling out his record labels, however. Again on Tuesday, Kanye returned to Twitter to take shots at Universal’s parent company Vivendi.
The rapper turned gospel artist then compared himself to the famous inventor Nikola Tesla alongside what appeared to be a screenshot of an exchange with a member of Vivendi’s board.
“Hey everyone we’re making progress,” West tweeted. “I’ll keep everyone updated on how this meeting with Vivendi goes… If Nikola Tesla had a Twitter the world would run off AC … Edison killed Tesla’s image to control the power LITERALLY… Tesla and I only mean well for the world.”

Next, West followed up by posting what appeared to be a screenshot between him and a Universal business associate.
Said associate appeared to be desperate to fix his label’s relationship with the rapper.
“I’m not open to any form of business with Universal or Sony,” West responded, shutting the Universal associate down.

Hours before that, West posted what had to be seen as an ominous tweet by his record labels.
“My kids gonna own my masters,” he wrote cryptically.

Presidential Candidate Kanye West Is A Free-Thinking Conservative
Kanye is one of the few members of the entertainment industry brave enough to be outspoken about his conservative politics views.
The Georgia native has long been a supporter of President Donald Trump. Much to the dismay of liberals who can’t stand to see a conservative black man who thinks for himself.

So far, the presidential hopeful is on 12 ballots for the upcoming election. That’s not enough to gain him the golden number of electoral votes but it’s certainly enough to get people talking.
Regardless of your opinion of Kanye West, it’s clear that he has a mind of his own, and won’t let anyone else tell him what to do or think.
People like that seem to be an increasingly rare breed in this day and age. Especially in the entertainment industry. So we have to respect him for that.
