The WrestleMania 36 card is a mess with 90 days to go.. Also, Jon Moxley is once again wearing NJPW gold.
WrestleMania 36 Card A Mess
With WrestleMania 36 about 90 days away, WWE usually has a pretty decent idea of what the card will look like. At least, they usually know what will be the marquee matches. But, this year is very different.
According to WrestleVotes, a WWE source mentioned how basically the entire card is still being decided on. The source called the time refreshing, but also frustrating.
Talked to a source over the holidays who’s been with WWE for 10+ years who said they can’t remember a January where so little of the WrestleMania card has been decided upon. Said it’s both refreshing, as WWE is keeping multiple option open, but frustrating at the same time.

The only match that keeps being mentioned is Roman Reigns taking on “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. On SmackDown, Reigns was announced has the first entrant in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match, so he could win and then challenge Wyatt.
On RAW’s side, Brock Lesnar is expected to walk into WrestleMania still WWE Champion. Potential names mentioned has challengers include Kevin Owens, Cain Velasquez and Tyson Fury. But, none of those ideas are considered a lock.
Do look for NXT to have a major presence at the show. They won at Survivor Series and WWE looks to continue with that major push. At one point, there was speculation that someone from NXT would win one of the Rumble Matches and challenge for a title. Keith Lee, Rhea Ripley and Shayna Baszler seem like front-runners if WWE goes that direction.
With the Royal Rumble only weeks away, WWE will need to start finalizing some of their top matches.
WWE Jon Moxley Wins Gold For NJPW
Jon Moxley is once again wearing gold out of New Japan Pro Wresting (NJPW). At Wrestle Kingdom 14, Moxley defeated Lance Archer in a Texas Death Match to become the IWGP United States Champion.
This is second run with the title. He initially won the title last year from Juice Robinson, but had to vacate it due to weather conditions that caused him to not defend the title. After the match, Moxley called out Robinson for the second night of Wrestle Kingdom 14.
With one title back in his possession, Moxley will now shift his attention to All Elite Wreslting (AEW). Currently, he is the number one contender to Chris Jericho’s AEW World Championship. For weeks, Jericho has been offering Moxley a spot in the Inner Circle to avoid a match. This Wednesday, we will learn Moxley’s decision.
Since leaving WWE, Moxley has become one of the biggest stars around. It might only be a matter of time before he captures gold in AEW and other promotions.
