MMA fighter Paige VanZant signed with AEW earlier in 2022. She’s even made a number of appearances and had her first match in May at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view (PPV). With that said, how’s her wrestling training going?
Update On Paige VanZant & Wrestling

Currently, he coaches at Florida’s Coastal Championship Wrestling training facility. One of his students is nonother than VanZant.
During a recent interview with K&S Wrestlefest, he talks about Paige’s progress with training. So, how’s it all going?
Update On Paige VanZant & Her Wrestling Training
During the chat, Gangrel notes that Paige VanZant’s wrestling training has come to a halt. Gangrel confirms that he did train her for a little while.
He also notes that he would’ve liked her to train more. Gangrel also states that he hasn’t seen her since leading up to the wrestling match she had in May.
In the interview, he notes that after the Double or Nothing match, she wrote him and wanted to go over the bout so that he could give her some feedback. He agreed, but that was the last communication the two shared.
Gangrel reveals that VanZant would’ve been “really, really good” at wrestling. With that said, Paige has been busy outside the squared circle.
She was training for an August fight against Charis Sigala for the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship promotion. Sadly, that bout was pulled from the event, in the umpteenth hour.
It was originally slated for a later date, but how now been scrapped entirely. VanZant confirmed on social media that she didn’t back out but was pulled from it.
What will Paige do next? Only time will tell.
Over to Adam Cole, he’s a highly skilled wrestler, and incredible on the mic. But after his injury at the Forbidden Door PPV, his wrestling future is in doubt.
Adam Cole’s Future
Despite being injured before the match, Cole ended up participating in the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship bout at Forbidden Door this past June. It was a Fatal Four-Way match.
Sadly, he suffered a concussion during that competition. He hasn’t returned to in-ring action, since.
He did return to Dynamite in August and got a little physical during a segment. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been seen on TV, since then.
Will Adam Cole Wrestle Again?
Dave Meltzer chats about this during a recent Wrestling Observer Radio. From the sounds of it, Adam’s injury is far more serious than anyone imagined.
Meltzer notes that Cole has a “real bad” concussion”. He also states that Adam will be back when he’s cleared.
Dave questions whether Cole will be cleared tomorrow or never. It’s hard to say at this point.
With Bobby Fisher gone from AEW, what will the company have planned for Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole? For now, Adam Cole needs to concentrate on getting better and getting cleared for in-ring action.
