It’s not just another SmackDown in a Nutshell, as for this one, Bray Wyatt is worth the wait.
As in Bray Wyatt has been worth the wait. The Superstar had a long-teased return that culminated in his return at Extreme Rules.
While we enjoyed the build, thanks to unleashed creativity harnessed by a new writer and others…now he is back.
And, I have a feeling Bray Wyatt will indeed be worth the wait.
But, that is not all. Yes, tonight’s major draw is Bray Wyatt’s actual return.
However, there are other things happening tonight.
We have a fatal fourway to determine the #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship.
There is also the in-ring SmackDown debut of Legado del Fantasma, as well as the re-introduction of LA Knight.
I am sure there will be more, and it will be good…but many will be tuned in primarily for Wyatt.
And who can blame them.
So, with that said, it is time for…
SmackDown In A Nutshell: Bray Wyatt Worth The Wait
Lets crack this open and get this Nutshell going!
Best Match of the night:
This one is probably the main event fatal fourway.
But it was all overshadowed by the Bray promo.
Worst match of the night:
Probably Strowman and the jobbers.
Crowd Chants of the Night:
Thank you Bray
Welcome back
Star of the Night
LA Knight was fun
Solo and Sami and The Bloodline? Awesome as always.
Bray Wyatt, and all involved about pulling that return off? Impressive.
Rey Mysterio, earning the right to get knocked down by GUNTHER. Also, welcome back to the SmackDown roster.
Spot of the Night:
Liv Morgan, off the scaffold and through the table…well, through Sonya, then the table.
This was brilliant. #SmackDown pic.twitter.com/yK4qR9dY6l

Jobber of the Night:
James Maverick and Brian Thomas.
But, hey, they got to work on Friday night so…yay on them.
Upset of the Night:
We very nearly had one, with Roxanne Perez looking very good in her main roster debut.
But no.
I will say, given the four advertised in the #1 contenders match…the fill-in Rey Mysterio is a minor upset.
Makes sense, considering how he got in…but I was still very prepped for Sheamus getting another crack at Gunther.
Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:
Show opened with another car crash…someone hit Karrion Kross and Scarlett, and then Drew pounced.
Did Drew crash into them…or was it the same person tied to the crash on RAW a while back?
Always thought that one was linked to Dexter Lumis…but perhaps it was not, but that these two are linked?
That Bray Wyatt promo was…just wow.
He came out being very raw and emotional, and it certainly seemed quite very genuine.
It probably was, to be honest.
But, abruptly, the big screen flashed with the Wyatt logo and the masked version of Bray (or, perhaps someone else now under the new mask).
So, it seems for now, Wyatt’s first feud back might be with…himself?
Commentary of the night:
Out with the old, in with the gold. Graves with a nice one, and it’s refreshing how the teams are not glossing over things.
Like, flat out acknowledged that Dupri was LA Knight and is Knight again and it was silly.
Also this…
Michael Cole just mentioned LA Knight’s time on Championship Wrestling From Hollywood.
Damn, how times have changed in #WWE.

But it is a new WWE…

Also, Roxanne Perez was on the show tonight. Her appearance is tied to the “pick your poison” stipulation ahead of NXT’s Halloween Havoc.
Perez asked Raquel Rodriguez to be the Superstar to fight Cora Jade.
Jade, for her part, will be on RAW to pick an opponent for Perez.
Overall lowlights:
Not much to complain about. But always some.
First, I am not super excited for a Strowman-Omos feud.
However…that is on tap.
Second, there are some who probably weren’t thrilled at the abrupt end of Wyatt’s emotional return promo.
Not saying I am one of them, but I can see why some might be.
Overall highlights:
Strong show, really satisfying, but the ending was a bit…different.
I feel like the main event match could have had a bit more runtime, but it did need to wrap up to get Bray his time.
Bummed we didn’t see Kross in that match, but I feel like Kross and McIntyre have a lot more violence in them.
After the final bell:
The teasing with Wyatt continues.
Not even just talking about the way the show ended…but that does kind of count.
No, instead of that…sprinkled throughout the show, on boxes and such, was the upside down bug logo that is what Wyatt is using.
It was there on a box when Rey told Hunter he quit. Fans spotted it on a box when Morgan splashed Deville.
There are likely others, but those are front and center. And, above, if you look.
This tells me there is a lot more to this, so buckle up. Bray Wyatt was worth the wait, but the waiting for more is still a thing.
Is this leading us to the Wyatt 6 reveal? Are they going to be real things?
Stay tuned.
