There’s some buzz that AEW is thinking about adding another championship to its company. In fact, the plan is to introduce a second Women’s title. More information is below.
Second AEW Women’s Title Rumor
Mat Men’s Andrew Zarian states there is a rumbling that a new championship is set to hit AEW, soon. The new title will be placed in the women’s division.
Hearing rumblings of a new title being introduced to AEW soon.
It will be a secondary women's championship.#AEW #TNT #TBS #ProWrestling
— Andrew Zarian (@AndrewZarian) September 22, 2021
There’s no information on what the name of the championship would be. There’s also no word on when exactly it’ll be introduced.
AEW’s women division has grown over the year. There’s plenty of talent that could justify another championship.
Nothing else has been confirmed yet. However, AEW may introduce a Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Second AEW Women’s Title Rumor + Trios?
Rumors have been buzzing that AEW will introduce Trio Titles. With that said, a second Women’s Championship will hit, first.
Interestingly enough, Zarian placed #TBS and #TNT hashtags in his tweet (see above). Someone asked if the #TBS was a “hint”.
Zarian replied with a smiley emoji. Sounds like AEW Rampage and AEW Dynamite will begin airing on TBS, come next year.
Well, AEW continues to thrive. Meanwhile, more WWE superstars are asking for their release.

WWE Superstar Requests Release
WWE talent Gran Metalik has asked for his release. This, as per lucha libre program Más Lucha.
The report states that Metalik’s reasons for asking this are because he’s frustrated with the direction his character is taking. Metalik’s contract runs until 2023.
He’s hoping to continue wrestling in the U.S., Mexico, as well as Japan. He once worked in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
This was on-and-off from 2010 to 2017. There’s no word around what WWE’s response has been.
Gran Metalik has 16 years of pro wrestling experience. From Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, he jumped into the spotlight at CMLL.
He first wrestled as Metalik, and later changed his name to Máscara Dorada. As Dorada, Metalik was known as a premiere Lucha libre “high flyer”.
He was a CMLL World Welterweight Championship four times. This record still stands today.
Metalik came to the WWE in 2016. He was in the Cruiserweight Classic tourney.
He went all the way to the finals. Metalik then ended up losing to TJ Perkins.
More On Gran Metalik
He would still appear in CMLL and CWC until he signed a deal with WWE later that year. Metalik had a stellar run with the company as a member of the Lucha House Party (LHP).
Sadly, Kalisto, part of the LHP, was released from the WWE in 2021. Metalik was last seen on RAW recently, competing with Lince Dorado in a Tag Team Turmoil bout.
If he’s released, Metalik’s last appearance on WWE would be this past Main Event episode. He and Dorado lost to Angel Garza and Humberto Carillo.
Will the WWE grant this superstar his release? It’s hard to say.
There have been several talents leaving the company as of late. Some are let go and some are being granted releases.
Although, as he has a tag team partner, the WWE could have specific plans for both talents. Only time will tell if he exits the company.
