Sami Zayn has a great gimmick in WWE and he mentioned how he is given some creative process. Also, Rey Fenix should be back on AEW TV within a matter of weeks.
Sami Zayn – Creative Process
Sami Zayn might have one of the best gimmicks going in WWE. He portrays a conspiracy lunatic, which he even plays once the cameras stop rolling.
Truly, Zayn is not getting the credit he deserves. At one point, there was talk WWE would let him go because they did not like his antics.
Instead, he continues to wow the audience. And, part of what he says and does not come from WWE.
Unlike most WWE superstars, Zayn is given some creative process. On Out of Character, Zayn noted how he has say in his character’s direction.
Some ideas work and make it to TV. Meanwhile, others are rejected.
“But, a lot of things they’ll take and okay, it’s not exactly how I envisioned it, but pieces of it get through,” said Zayn. “Having even a little bit of creative input, I think that’s what’s really taken my appreciation and my enjoyment of being here in WWE to another level.”
“I’ll say, ‘Hey, I really wish we could kind of do this’ and then some version of it happens and I’m thrilled. I’m over the moon.”
“What more could you ask? To just feel like you have a voice and you’re feeling heard and then when you actually go out there and do it, you feel respected and valued. That’s really what kept me here.”
Zayn worked with the Jackass crew, especially Johnny Knoxville in recent months. It all culminated in a No Holds Barred Match at WrestleMania 38.
From start to finish, the match was hilarious. It was not a perfect wrestling match, but that was never going to happen.
Fans wanted entertainment and that is exactly what they got from Zayn and Knoxville.
Former AEW Champion Returning
The Lucha Brothers (Pentagón Jr and Rey Fenix) are two of the most talented wrestlers out there. They use highflying to produce some unseen offense out of any tag team.
Although, with such risk, comes injuries. The brothers are having a great run in AEW, even capturing the tag titles for a time.
Fenix might be the bigger risk taker of the two. Therefore, he has dealt with numbers injuries.
In January, Fenix took an awful bump against Jurassic Express. Fenix went though a table on the outside and it looked like his arm snapped in half.

During the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted Fenix will be back on TV in a few weeks.
“Fenix did an interview today and said he would be back for TripleMania which is April 30,” said Meltzer. “So, we should be seeing Pentagon and Fenix back as a tag team in AEW within a couple weeks now.”
While Fenix might return to the ring on April 30, AEW might wait another week or two. The tag team division in AEW is flourishing, so they are not short on talent.
Since away, Pentagón Jr’s character has taken a dark turn.
