There was an offer for Lita to join AEW, but she passed. Also, during a recent Q&A, former Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida seemed to have issues with her recent booking.
Lita Passed On AEW Offer
Fans knew Lita would be in the Royal Rumble and even appeared beforehand to hype the match. Like several entrants in the Women’s Rumble, they were only thought to be there for a one-time deal.
Then, the next on RAW, Lita appeared in the closing segment with Becky Lynch. She dropped the RAW Women’s Champion and they will meet at the Elimination Chamber.

Apparently, Lita did have an offer besides WWE. While speaking to Esquire Middle East, Lita noted how AEW reached out.
“AEW is doing exciting stuff,” said Lita. “It’s brought new life in the industry.”
“Any time there’s competition, it’s good. It revives the industry.”
“When they reached out to me, I did consider it. I said, ‘We can talk, I’m interested, you guys are doing some interesting stuff.’”
“But ultimately, upon talking to them, it just made me say to myself, ‘But I have all of these things already!’ I have those things with my home that I’ve known for 20 years, with the people that I’ve worked with for 20 years.”
“Basically, I gave them my blessing. I said, I will watch you and I support you.”
“And I want you guys to do great, but this just doesn’t feel like the right fit for me right now.”

We will have to see if Lita sticks around WWE TV for a match at WrestleMania 28.
Meanwhile, AEW’s women division has really grown over the past 18 months. Britt Baker, Thunder Rosa and Jade Cargill are the future of that division.
Former AEW Champion Seems Upset
Hikaru Shida might not be the most known name in AEW, but she is part of history. She is first female wrestler to secure 50 wins and was also AEW Women’s Champion for over a year.
After dropping the title, she started to appear less on TV. Recently, she worked a program with Serena Deeb.
They traded wins, but in the last match Deeb focused on the knee of Shida. Therefore, the referee had to stop the match.
Shida has now headed back to Japan. Although, she remains a member of the AEW roster.
During a Q&A with fans on Twitter, Shida possibly hinted at frustration with her latest booking.

Basically, it is hard to tell if Shida is having fun on social media or if there is some actual tension. She was pushed very well by AEW, so hopefully everything passes.
