There were celebrations across the world yesterday as we rolled into 2019 with giant parties. The biggest story to come from the festivities was the unveil of All Elite Wresting (AEW), which is being finically supported by co-owner of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, Tony Khan.

The announcement was made at midnight Pacific Standard Time and should come as no surprise. There had been speculation for months that Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) and Adam Page would be starting a new wrestling promotion. All the signs were there as trademarks had been filed and plenty of hints were dropped. As seen down below, the official announcement was made when The Elite uploaded a new video episode of their show.

While many of the details all still not known to the public, the first show has been confirmed with Double Or Nothing; which is rumored for the spring according to PWInsider. We should know more in the coming weeks about the inaugural show and further details about the promotion. A rally is planned in Jacksonville on January 8 at 5 pm ET at the West Club at the TIAA Bank Field, where more info will be provided.

We are not even 12 hours into 2019 and it is already shaping up to be a big year. Many believe AEW will give provide fans with a better alternative to wrestling and do not think WWE is taking the new promotion lightly.
