Jagger’s History

Jagger was born into a middle class family in Dartford, Kent, on 26 July 1943. He met Richards when they were both only 4 years-old, but they lost touch when they went to different secondary schools.

In 1960, Jagger and Richards met again by chance on the Dartford train line. As they caught up with one another, they realized that they had a mutual interest in rock ‘n roll combined with blues.

Within the next two years, they had formed The Rolling Stones, with Jagger as lead vocalist and Richards on guitar. Rounding out the band was Bill Wyman on bass, Charlie Watts on drums and Brian Jones on guitar.

They released their first album “The Rolling Stones” in 1964. One year later, the band scored their first number one hit in the U.K. with “The Last Time,” which was followed by “I can’t get no Satisfaction.”

The rest, as they say, is history. The Rolling Stones has gone on to become one of the most popular bands of all time.
