Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour came to an end in Vancouver on Sunday night. The tour sold $2,077,618,725 in total tickets, which makes it the bestselling tour of all time. Indeed, this figure is “double the gross ticket sales of any other concert tour in history.”

And Taylor Swift, being the person she is, definitely shared the wealth.

Swift Hands Out $197 Million In Bonuses

In the wake of this massive achievement, Swift is giving back to the people who helped make her tour such a big success. People Magazine confirmed that over the past two years, Swift has handed out $197 million in bonuses to everyone working on the Eras Tour.

And Swift didn’t seem to leave anyone out – giving bonuses to “truck drivers, caterers, instrument techs, merch team, lighting, sound, production staff and assistants, carpenters, dancers, band, security, choreographers, pyrotechnics, riggers, hair, make-up, wardrobe, physical therapists and video team.”

When Swift wrapped up the first North American leg of her Eras Tour back in August of 2023, it was reported that she’d given out over $55 million in bonuses. Clearly, she didn’t slow down with the bonuses one bit over the course of the next sixteen months!

Swift Ends Her Eras Tour

Swift, 34, began her Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona in March of 2023. On Sunday night, she ended it at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver with her last show, the 149th of the tour. For the record, that’s almost seven shows per month, for 22 months straight!

“This tour has been the adventure of a lifetime,” Swift told the Vancouver crowd. “I speak on behalf of my band, my crew, my fellow performers, who all left their families and spent time away from everything that they know and love, and have performed when they were sick.”

“When anything was going on in their lives, they made sure that this show happened for you, and I just wanted to say that on behalf of all of us, we will never forget you giving us that moment,” she continued.

Before a final performance of her hit song “Karma,” Swift took a bow and told her audience, “I want to thank every single one of you for being a part of the most thrilling chapter of my entire life to date — my beloved Eras Tour.”

Swift Bonuses To Truck Drivers

Swift has long been generous about compensating those who work for her. In August of 2023, she quietly wrote $100,000 checks and handwritten letters to every single truck driver who helped transport her stage and production around the U.S. during the first North American leg of her Eras Tour.

Mike Scherkenbach, the CEO of Shomotion LLC., said at the time that Swift’s father Scott had surprised the truck drivers with this during a production meeting.

“Scott gave a short speech and said how much he appreciated the service and what they’ve done for the tour for the last 24 weeks,” Scherkenbach said. “They’ve been out there nonstop, the men and women that drive for us have been away from their families for 24 weeks.”

Whether you’re a fan of Swift’s music or not, you can’t deny that she seems like one incredible woman. It often seems that most A-list singers have little-to-no respect for those who work under them. God bless Swift for stepping up to pay back those who helped make her tour such a huge success!
