Dolly Parton is promoting her new collaboration with Post Malone on his freshly released country album F-1 Trillion.

Parton urged fans to have a listen to the song “Have the Heart” in an Instagram post showing the country legend alongside Malone.

Critics are already praising Parton’s verse in the song (she joins in on the chorus) in which she asks, “Wanna hear somethin’ sexy?”

Pitchfork describes it as a “gonzo, gleefully ridiculous verse” and equates it to some of her classics.

“Malone’s decision to stay out of her way on the track is one of his canniest on the album,” they write.

Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw, Others Join Post Malone

Post Malone’s new country album has been hotly anticipated for some time. He’s repeatedly dabbled in the genre with other stars, leading to some significant success.

Malone’s collaboration with country star Morgan Wallen, “I Had Some Help”, is a solid summer hit, for sure. It debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 and still sits at number 2 after being on the chart for 13 weeks.

He followed that up with “Pour Me a Drink”, a duet with country legend Blake Shelton.

There is no shortage of collaborations on this album, including the three already mentioned. Perhaps that takes away from the luster of Malone’s own country chops no matter how good the songs are. Fans won’t be able to help noting that he’s riding some serious coattails.

In fact, of the 18 new songs on F-1 Trillion, 15 of them feature other artists. And there are some big names.

Along with Dolly Parton, Post Malone is joined by Tim McGraw (“Wrong Ones”), Hank Williams Jr. (“Finer Things”), Lainey Wilson (“Nosedive”), and Jelly Roll (“Losers”), to name a few.

That said, it’s an incredible challenge for anyone to completely change genres, and Post Malone is making a heck of an effort.

Time Of His Life

Naturally, Dolly Parton wasn’t the only one celebrating the release of the new album Friday. Post Malone had his own Instagram post thanking the folks who helped him put F-1 Trillion together.

“Thank you to everyone involved in the making of this project. I am so honored to have worked with some of my favorite artists, writers, and friends,” he writes.

“I have had the time of my life making this record, it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I’m so excited for the opportunity to make it.”

Now the question remains, will his foray into country music be a commercial success? Or did the summer hit with Wallen mark the peak of this effort?

The album has managed to impress with its star-studded collaborations and Malone’s genuine attempt to embrace country music. Others though, have expressed doubts over the number of collaborations, with one fan suggesting, “Bro is collecting country singers like infinity stones.”

Outkick is calling the new album “unbelievably impressive” and “a home run” for Malone.
