Last month, we reported that Clint Eastwood’s upcoming movie Juror No. 2 had scored a premiere date. The film, which is set to be the final movie that Eastwood will direct, will hit theaters on November 1.

Now, the first trailer for the legal drama has dropped, and it has fans very excited!

Juror No. 2 Trailer Drops

The official synopsis for Juror No. 2 states that the film stars Nicholas Hoult as Justin Kemp, a family man who “while serving as a juror in a high-profile murder trial, finds himself struggling with a serious moral dilemma, one he could use to sway the jury verdict and potentially convict — or free — the accused killer.”

Eastwood Speaks Out

“This is a film I would want to see, that I think a lot of people would enjoy,” Eastwood, 94, told People Magazine. “It looks at the gray areas between the black and white of everyday circumstances and makes you decide for yourself.”

Eastwood said that it started with a “good script” by Jonathan Abrams and a “solid story that I thought would make a good picture.”

“It really intrigues me when a story places a character in a moral dilemma, and this is one that we could all imagine ourselves in or relate to in some way,” he continued.

That’s typically been the magic behind Eastwood’s most recent ventures.

Aside from Hoult, the film features a cast of A-list stars who couldn’t resist starring in Eastwood’s final directorial film. Other famous faces in the movie include Toni Collette, Zoey Deutch, Kiefer Sutherland, Gabriel Basso, Leslie Bibb, Chris Messina, and J. K. Simmons.

Eastwood gushed over the cast, saying that they shared “all the laughs” on the movie’s set.

“We had a really great group of actors, led by Nicholas Hoult, who I was really impressed with — he is what I think a movie star is,” Eastwood stated. “Everyone was very professional, came prepared and ready to work, but more than that they came and we laughed every day. Whether I’m directing or acting, I think it’s important to enjoy the work, and we did.”

Juror No. 2 Cast Praises Eastwood

The actors got a huge kick out of working with Eastwood as well.

“You think you’re going to get some tough guy and he is completely gentle and calm and fun and cracking jokes, and a lot of the crew members — [for example], the craft services woman has been with him for 22 years,” Messina, 50, told People Magazine of Eastwood back in December.

“He was awesome. I really loved him,” he continued. “93 years old and completely with it, great notes, up on his feet behind the camera — just a badass. It was super inspiring.”

Sutherland, 57, of 24 fame revealed back in May that he scored his role in Juror No. 2 after writing Eastwood a handwritten letter. This letter featured Sutherland “telling him how much I admired his work, which specific films [I loved] and why… he was kind enough to give me a job. So, kids, learn how to hand-write.”

“I had read in one of the trade magazines that he was directing his last film, and I thought, ‘This is my last chance,'” Sutherland added.

Eastwood has had a decades-long career that has seen him win four Oscars. Two of these Oscars came for his directorial efforts with the movies Unforgiven (1992) and Million Dollar Baby (2004). Each of these movies also won Eastwood the Oscars for Best Picture.

It’s incredibly impressive that Eastwood is still directing movies well into his 90s. In the end, he’s showing the world that age really is just a number. We can’t wait to check out Juror No. 2 when it hits theaters come November!
