Earlier this year, the 94 year-old Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood completed filming Juror No. 2, which is set to be his final directorial film. Now, the movie has finally gotten a release date, much to the joy of Eastwood’s many fans.
Juror No. 2 Gets Release Date
Variety has confirmed that Juror No. 2 will have its world premiere on Sunday, October 27 as the closing night film of the AFI Film Festival. Warner Bros.’ will then release the movie in limited theaters on Friday, November 1.
“There is only one Clint Eastwood – and AFI is proud to present the world premiere of this next chapter in his historic canon,” said Bob Gazzale, AFI president and CEO. “We are honored to bring the community together once again—artists and audiences—to celebrate an American icon.”
Eastwood was previously given the AFI Life Achievement Award, the highest honor for a film career, back in 1996. The AFI also conferred him an honorary degree for his contributions to the art form.

Juror No. 2 Plot
Juror No. 2 reportedly follows “Family man Justin Kemp who, while serving as a juror in a high profile murder trial, finds himself struggling with a serious moral dilemma…one he could use to sway the jury verdict and potentially convict, or free the wrong killer,” according to IMDb.
Kemp will be played by Nicholas Hoult, while the role of the prosecutor will be played by the former Sixth Sense actress Toni Collette. Other stars appearing in the movie include Leslie Bibb, Kiefer Sutherland, Gabriel Basso, Zoey Deutch, and Chris Messina.
“You think you’re going to get some tough guy and he is completely gentle and calm and fun and cracking jokes, and a lot of the crew members — [for example], the craft services woman has been with him for 22 years,” Messina told People Magazine of Eastwood back in December.
“He was awesome. I really loved him,” he continued. “93 years old and completely with it, great notes, up on his feet behind the camera — just a badass. It was super inspiring.”
Eastwood’s Final Directorial Movie
Production of Juror No. 2 was interrupted by last year’s writers and actors strikes. It was reported in 2023 that this will be Eastwood’s final film, though he had previously said that he would never retire.
“What the hell am I still working for in my 90s?” Eastwood told The L.A. Times back in 2021. “Are people going to start throwing tomatoes at you? I’ve gotten to the point where I wondered if that was enough, but not to the point where I decided it was. If you roll out a few turkeys, they’ll tell you soon enough.”
Eastwood has starred in over 50 films throughout his decades-long career, and he’s directed more than 40. Other movies he’s directed include Unforgiven, Million Dollar Baby, American Sniper, Gran Torino, and The Mule. In 2018, Eastwood told The Hollywood Reporter that he was still making movies because he was having fun.
“You never know when you’re going to give up,” he said. “But I’m enjoying it.”
It’s incredibly impressive that Eastwood is still directing movies well into his 90s. We can’t wait to see Juror No. 2 when it hits theaters come November!
