Moore starred in this film alongside Rob Lowe, Ally Sheedy, and Emilio Estevez. The movie cemented her as a member of the brat pack, a term that she found to be “demeaning.”
Nevertheless, Moore and her fellow stars of this film will always hold a special place in the hearts of 80s kids everywhere. Critics may have had some issues with the movie, but 80s kids loved it!
About Last Night (1986)

Ghost was Moore’s most successful film to date by far, and it still holds up to this day.
After a young man (Patrick Swayze) is murdered, his ghost must save his girlfriend (Moore) from impending danger. He goes about doing this with a little help from a psychic (Whoopi Goldberg).
The movie was a massive hit, becoming the highest-grossing film of the year after earning $505 million. The film also earned Moore a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy, an award that she lost to Julia Roberts for her turn in Pretty Woman.
Ghost brought Moore’s level of stardom to an entirely new level. It was also the beginning of the most successful string of years in her career.

In the film, Moore plays a stripper and single mother who find herself being dragged into a dangerous situation after a congressman takes a liking to her. As the title suggests, Moore has some very risque stripping scenes. Let’s just say some of these scenes may not be appropriate for all audiences!
Audiences flocked to see the movie, making it a box office hit after it earned $113 million worldwide on a $50 million budget. Unfortunately, critics didn’t feel the same way and they panned both the film and Moore’s performance, leading to a downturn in her career.

G.I. Jane (1997)
This movie allowed audiences to see Moore like they’ve never seen her before, as she shaved her head for the role.
Moore played U.S. Navy topographic analyst Lt. Jordan O’Neill, who joins the US Navy Special Warfare Group. There, she struggles to prove herself in a unit that is dominated by men. The action drama tells the fictional story of the first woman to undergo special operations training similar to the U.S. Navy SEALs.
While Moore earned some critical praise, the film itself was not a hit. It earned just $48 million at the box office, falling short of its $50 million budget.
Despite this, Moore looks back fondly at G.I. Jane. In her 2019 memoir Inside Out, Moore described this film as her proudest professional achievement.
Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle (2003)
Moore showed the world that she’s still got it in this sequel to the hit 2000 movie Charlie’s Angels.
This film features the iconic angels, portrayed by Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu, investigating a series of murders that occur after the theft of a witness protection profile database.
Moore plays Madison Lee, a former angel who ends up turning to the dark side. She more than holds her own in this movie, and showed the world that she still had what it takes to be considered an A-list Hollywood sex symbol.
In recent years, Moore has focused more on television than on film, but she’s still just as beautiful and talented as ever. Here’s hoping she has some more iconic film roles in store for us in the years to come!
