Pat Sajak’s final episode of Wheel of Fortune will be airing tonight. This comes as he’s retiring after hosting the beloved game show for 43 years.
In honor of his retirement, we’ve decided to take a walk down memory lane and look at just a few of his recent funny moments on the show. Scroll through these and relive some of Sajak’s best moments as one of America’s favorite game show hosts!
‘Fish Love’
In the over four decades that Sajak has hosted Wheel of Fortune, there have been many embarrassing guesses for puzzles. One of the most humiliating ones came back in 2008, when a contestant actually guessed “Fish Love.”
The three contestants had $3,000 on the line as they were shown -ISH L—.
A contestant named Edgar guessed “Fish Love” before quickly apologizing as the audience burst out laughing. The answer ended up being “Wish List.”
Putting his legendary sense of humor to use, Sajak quipped, “You know, sometimes the acoustics in here are bad and I thought I heard you say fish love.”
“Jenny got the $3,000 and Edgar has something he will be known for for the rest of his life,” he added.

Accidental Answer Reveal
In a rare slip-up, Sajak accidentally revealed the answer to a puzzle before a contestant had the chance to guess it back in 2021. At the time, the board read, “—TE -RAN-L-.”
“Yikes!” Sajak said of the difficult puzzle. “Well, I’d rather be standing here than there, quite frankly.”
Sure enough, the answer ended up being “Quite Frankly.” Thankfully, the contestant didn’t catch what Sajak had said and ended up losing the round.
“Did you hear what you said?” Sajak’s co-host Vanna White asked him after the show.
“I did right after I said it,” he confessed.
“It goes to show you that people are concentrating and they’re not paying any attention to me,” he continued. “It’s funny what your mouth will say that your brain says, you shouldn’t do that.”

‘Right In The Butt’
Sajak’s most recent viral Wheel of Fortune moment came just last month, when a contestant had a very NSFW answer to a puzzle.
The category was “Prases,” and the letters “_ _ _ _ I _ T _ E B _ _ T!” were on the board.
A contestant named Tavaris buzzed in and shockingly guessed, “Right In The Butt!”
“No,” Sajak simply said in response as the audience and other contestants gasped.
The answer ended up being “This Is The Best!”

Sajak announced last year that the current 41st season would be his last.
“Well, the time has come,” he said at the time, according to Entertainment Tonight. “It’s been a wonderful ride.”
While Sajak will be dearly missed, we certainly hope he enjoys his retirement. If anyone deserves to be able to kick back and relax, it’s Pat Sajak!
