The former Dukes Of Hazzard star John Schneider has announced that he has found love again one year after his beloved wife Alicia Allain died of breast cancer at the age of 53.
Schneider Finds Love Again
Schneider, 64, revealed his new relationship with the world while appearing on “Grace Begins, The Podcast.” There, he admitted that prior to finding love again, he was “ready to give it all up.” A deeply religious man, Schneider believes that God had a role in his new romance.
“God sent a widower to a widow and a widow to a widower who [gets] it, who understands,” he said. “Because I tell you what, I was ready to give it up, all of it — everything.”
“Then just when I thought the very notion of dating or holding another hand was repulsive, I met this one, that crazy Dame over there,” he added.
Schneider’s mysterious new girlfriend was out of frame when he referenced her. He went on to say that after his wife’s death, he never thought that he would be able to find love again.
“I can honestly say I didn’t want it. I was done,” he confessed. “And if that hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t have been here, there’s not a chance in the world.”
Allain And Schneider’s History
Allain, who was a movie producer and actress, died in February of 2023 after a four-year battle with breast cancer, according to Fox News. In Hollywood, she was best known for her roles in the 1991 films Leather Jackets and Caged Fear.
Allain and Schneider met in 2014, when she approached him about collaborating on a project. They began dating the next year and quickly became partners both in producing independent films and writing songs.
They married in 2019, which is sadly the same year that Allain was diagnosed with stage 4 HER2-negative cancer. Though it went into remission in 2020, it returned with a vengeance in 2021. By then, the cancer had metastasized to the bone. Allain died at their home in Louisiana in February of 2023.

Schneider’s Grieving Process
Since then, Schneider has been open about how difficult the grieving process has been for him. Back in December, he opened up about celebrating his first Christmas without his wife.
“Grief will sneak up on you and smack you in the back of the head,” he said at the time. “Truly, when you least expect it. But usually right as you’re having a great time.”
“It’s almost like grief says, ‘No, no, no, no, no. You’re not going to smile today,'” he added. “‘You’re not going to laugh today.'”
Schneider went on to say that he’s learned that “grief will never go away. It’s just something we learn to carry.”

Schneider’s Career
Schneider is best known for playing Bo Duke on all 128 episodes of the beloved TV show The Dukes Of Hazzard, which ran from 1979 until 1985. He’s also a talented singer, and is known for being one of the few openly devout Christians in Hollywood.
This has clearly been a very difficult time for Schneider, so we’re glad to see that he’s found love again. We’d like to wish him and his girlfriend many years of happiness to come!
