Last month, we reported that fears were growing for the health of the cooking sensation and talk show host Rachael Ray, 56, after she posted a video to social media in which she appeared to be “slurring” her words and suffering from facial drooping.
While we’ve had no explanation from Ray, she is now speaking out to admit that she’s suffered “a couple of bad falls” as of late.
Fears For Ray’s Health
Fears for Ray’s health began last month when she took to Instagram to post a video honoring the late singer Tony Bennett. Fans responded by saying that Ray was “slurring” her speech in the video. Some questioned if she was drunk, while others thought she might be on a “medication” or suffering from a health “condition.”
“Is she slurring or am I slurring,” one fan commented. Another added, “I love you but are you ok? I’m seriously concerned.”
“Rachel is in a bit of trouble?! I hope someone is just as concerned as I am?” a third fan wrote. A fourth person questioned, “What the heck is wrong with her? Messy hair, slurring words….wow just wow …”

Ray Suffered ‘A Couple Of Bad Falls’
On the debut episode of her podcast “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead“, Ray said that she loves doing “physical labor” around her house. However, she added that she’s been forced to cut back on this after suffering “a couple of bad falls” while carrying wood.
“I’m a homemaker. I love chores…I love being in the kitchen,” Ray explained. She added that she always works with her “brain everyday, I’m always writing something, but I really like chores.”
“I like what people consider physical work…I like making dinner, planning dinners, making lists. I love physical labor, helping carry in the wood,” she continued. “I’ve had a couple of bad falls in the last couple of weeks, so I haven’t been doing that in awhile, but I love carrying wood.”
So was last month’s strange episode related to the “falls”? So far, that’s the biggest clue we’ve gotten.
Ray’s New Podcast
Ray announced her new podcast earlier this month amidst fears for her health.
“I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead (quite literally!) is about life’s journeys and what keeps us going,” Ray told People Magazine.
“It’s unscripted, raw, and real talk,” she continued. “Working fuels me, connecting with people fuels me, and this platform allows for connection and conversation on a more personal level, which really fuels me.”
Each episode will feature Ray sitting down with a celebrity guest to make a “melting pot” of modern insight and conversations with “no topic off limits.” The first episode dropped on Tuesday, and it featured Ray talking to the former Angel actress Jenny Mollen about love, marriage, and “having no filter.”
On the next episode, which drops on October 29, Ray will sit down with The Morning Show actor Billy Crudup. Other celebrity guests that are lined up for later episodes include Bob Harper, Anne Burrell, Harlan Coben, Jacques Pepin, Jeremy Sisto, and Billy Porter.
We can only hope that there isn’t something seriously wrong with Ray’s health. Please join us in saying a prayer for her.
