Madonna, 66, has broken her silence after her brother Christopher Ciccone died on Friday after a battle with cancer. He was 63 years-old.
Madonna Speaks Out On Her Brother’s Death
The controversial singer opened up to her fans about how she is feeling.
“My brother Christopher is gone,” Madonna wrote on Instagram. “He was the closest human to me for so long. Its hard to explain our bond. But it grew out of an understanding that we were different and society was going to give us a hard time for not following the status quo.”
“We took each other‘s hands and we danced through the madness of our childhood,” she continued. “In fact dance was a kind of superglue that held us together. Discovering Dance in our small Midwestern town saved me and then my brother came along, and it saved him too.”
Madonna went on to describe her brother as “a poet and a visionary.”
“We soared the highest heights together. And floundered in the lowest lows. Somehow, we always found each other again and We held hands and we kept dancing,” she stated. “The last few years have not been easy. We did not speak for sometime but When my brother got sick. We found our way back to each other.”
Madonna’s story of connecting after an estrangement is eerily similar to what happened to Mix fan favorites Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz of American Pickers fame.
“I did my best to keep him alive as long as possible,” Madonna concluded. “He was in so much pain towards the end. Once again, we held hands We closed our eyes and we danced. Together.”

Christopher’s Death
A lifelong friend of Christopher’s told Daily Mail that he and Madonna had mended their relationship in the final months of his life.
“Christopher had pancreatic cancer and had been living at Madonna’s house in Los Angeles for over a year prior to his passing,” the insider said.
The source went on to say that “despite their tumultuous relationship over the years,” Madonna “took care of him during his fight with cancer” and “spared no expense in ensuring he had the best possible care and support.”
Madonna and Christopher reportedly made peace after their older brother Anthony died of throat cancer in February of last year.
“Their relationship had seen its share of ups and downs, but after the death of their brother Anthony, they grew very close,” the source explained. “Anthony’s passing marked a pivotal moment for the entire family, bringing them together in a way they hadn’t been in years. In those final months, Madonna and Christopher were so close.”

Christopher Was Ready To Go
Madonna and her “entire family” are devastated by Christopher’s death.
“They are glad he is no longer in pain,” said the insider, who added that Christopher “put up a good fight” during his cancer battle. Christopher’s “health had been in a steady decline since the previous summer, and as time passed, his condition worsened,” according to the source.
“The pain became unbearable toward the end, and though it was incredibly difficult, Christopher had reached a point where he was ready to let go,” the source said.
This is clearly a very difficult time for Madonna and her family. Please join us in saying a prayer for them.
