Last month, we reported on claims that the Hollywood stars Kevin Costner and Jennifer Lopez were on their way to becoming an item. Indeed, it was alleged at the time that they were “talking every day.”
Now, it appears that this budding romance is escalating in a big way. Insiders are saying that Costner, 70, has been hitting the gym lately in an attempt to get into tip-top shape for the extremely fit Lopez, 55.
Costner Hits The Gym
“Kevin keeps himself pretty lean and healthy but he’s now on a mission to add some more muscle and see how fit he can get this year,” a source told In Touch Weekly. “He wants to be able to whip off his shirt and show off a six-pack like he used to back in his heartthrob days and he’s been told by his trainer that it’s entirely possible to achieve, even at his age so he’s pretty pumped up.”
The insider went on to say that Lopez’s “incredibly fit” body and “eternally young” aura played a “big factor” in Costner’s decision to focus on his fitness.
If you’ve seen Jennifer Lopez lately, it’s hard to blame him.
“She’s among those inspiring him to hit the gym and prove age is just a number,” the source explained. “Of course, it’s going to take a huge amount of dedication, and not just in the gym but also in the kitchen.”
Costner has even changed his diet, switching to a “high-protein plan.” This goes along with “his training regime that his personal chef will be strictly following. His goal is to add 10 pounds of muscle in time for summer!”

Costner And Lopez Spotted In Aspen
Costner and Lopez got everyone talking back in December. Two days after Christmas, they were spotted shopping together in the celebrity hotspot of Aspen, Colorado. At the time, a friend of both Costner and Lopez said that they “would make a super fun match.”
“J. Lo expressed her love of Yellowstone, as well as her disappointment over Kevin’s departure, and he was hugely flattered,” this insider said. “She was quick to let him know she adores Horizon, too, which went a long way to stroke his ego.”
It may have been the only kind words Costner has heard so far about Horizon, frankly, so she really pushed his buttons!
The source went on to say that “timing is everything, so there’s certainly a chance these two could make a go of it. Plus, pals on both sides think that J. Lo and Kevin would make a super fun match.”

Lopes ‘Loves How Passionate’ Costner Is
Days later, another source opened up about the alleged connection that Costner and Lopez share.
“At the moment things are still at the very beginning stages, but after they hung out in Aspen he made sure to send her a huge bouquet of her favourite flowers with a little handwritten note along with a magnum of champagne,” an inside told Closer Weekly UK. “Since then, they’ve been talking pretty much every day, and the plan is to get together for dinner in the next couple of weeks, when their schedules line up.”
The source went on to claim that Lopez “loves how passionate Kevin is about making movies, and he’s also a musician.” As for Costner, he is “in awe of how incredibly fit and eternally young she is. She’s among those inspiring him to hit the gym and prove age is just a number.”
Lopez and Costner each are trying to bounce back from their respective divorces. Lopez recently finalized her divorce from her fellow Hollywood star Ben Affleck after just two years of marriage. Meanwhile, Costner divorced his wife Christine Baumgartner in 2024 after twenty years of marriage.
Many fans would never have pegged Costner and Lopez as two celebrities that would get together. Only time will tell if they ever become a true couple!
