The Oscar-winning Hollywood star Jamie Foxx was involved in a physical altercation at a Beverly Hills restaurant on Friday. Afterwards, he was left with facial injuries that required stitches to treat. In the wake of this incident, Foxx condemned the devil as he thanked fans for their support.

Foxx Reverences The Devil After Physical Altercation

Foxx was celebrating his 57th birthday with friends at the celebrity hotspot Mr. Chow on Friday night. A spokesperson for Foxx told People Magazine that while there, an unknown person at another table “threw a glass that hit him in the mouth.”

Foxx immediately sought medical attention and required stitches to his face. His spokesperson said the next day that the star is “recovering” at home following the incident.

Thankfully, he didn’t get hit in the eye or the jugular.

Foxx himself took to Instagram on Sunday to post an image stating,  “The devil is busy… but I’m too blessed to be stressed.”

“The devil is a lie,” Foxx wrote in the caption of the post. “Can’t win here… thank you to everybody that pray and check on me… when your light is shining bright… they try to bring you darkness … but they don’t know that you’re built for it… the lights have been shining bright…”

“And huge thank yous to everyone that have watched and been inspired by What Had Happened Was … number 1 on @netflix if you haven’t checked it out please go check it out it’s from my heart and my soul,” he continued, referencing his recent Netflix special that dropped last week.

Police Weigh In

The Beverly Hills Police Department confirmed that officers were called to Mr. Chow about an alleged fight at around 10pm on Friday night.

“Upon investigation, officers determined that the reported assault with a deadly weapon was unfounded,” the police department said. “Instead, the incident involved a physical altercation between parties.”

“The BHPD conducted a preliminary investigation and completed a report documenting the battery,” they added. “No arrests were made.”

This came days after the release of What Had Happened Was… In it, Foxx finally revealed the truth behind the mysterious health battle that he’d gone through in April of 2023, admitting that it nearly killed him. Fox confirmed to his audience that he had a “brain bleed that led to a stroke.”

“April 11, I was having a bad headache, and I asked my boy for an Aspirin. I realized quickly that when you’re in a medical emergency, your boys don’t know what the […] to do,” Foxx recalled. “Before I could get the Aspirin [clicks his fingers] I went out. I don’t remember 20 days.”

Foxx References The Devil

Foxx went on to reference the devil again as he discussed nearly dying.

“I saw the tunnel. I didn’t see the light,” he recalled as he became emotional. Foxx then quickly returned to making jokes, saying, “It was hot in that tunnel…am I going to the wrong place in this mother-[…]? Because I looked at the end of the tunnel, and I thought I saw the Devil like, ‘C’mon.’ Or is that Puffy [Sean “Diddy” Combs]?”

Thankfully, Foxx has since recovered and is just getting back to resuming his entertainment career. We can only hope that Friday’s incident doesn’t set Foxx back too much, and that the Devil leaves him alone for the foreseeable future!
