Earlier this month, we reported on the new four-part Baywatch docuseries After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun. Many fans were stunned that the iconic Baywatch star Pamela Anderson didn’t take part in it. Now, the reason behind this has been revealed.

Anderson Declined Baywatch Docuseries

Sources told TMZ that Anderson, 57, was asked to be in the docuseries, but she declined. One insider said that Anderson sees Baywatch as a part of her history that she has embraced. There is reportedly no bad blood between her and her former cast-mates.

However, Anderson is in a different chapter of her life now, and she wants to focus on other opportunities. She’s said as much in the past. Indeed, she has two movies coming out in the next few months.

One of them is The Last Showgirl, which is already garnering her some Oscar buzz. That movie is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6. The Last Showgirl also stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Brenda Song, and Kiernan Shipka.

Anderson is also starring in the fifth The Naked Gun movie alongside Paul Walter Hauser and Kevin Durand. That movie is set to come out in 2025.

Docuseries Features Unseen Anderson Interviews

While Anderson didn’t sit down for an interview for After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun, the docuseries featured some never-before-seen interviews with her. The second episode, which is titled “Show Me the Money,” is all about Anderson and how she helped make Baywatch the huge hit that it was.

“How a young, blonde bombshell helps turn Baywatch into an international hit. Her name: Pamela Anderson,” the episode description reads.

Michael Berk, co-creator and producer on Baywatch, revealed that Anderson was nearly written off the show after her infamous sex tape with Tommy Lee leaked in 1996. She was allowed to stay when the incident actually boosted ratings.

Like Anderson, the iconic Baywatch star David Hasselhoff didn’t take part in the docuseries, but he is also featured in old interviews.
