It’s been one month since the country music legend Dolly Parton lost her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean. Despite this, Parton is moving forward by launching a new denim brand with Good American. Indeed, this brand is fittingly named “Dolly’s Joleans,” a clear reference to Parton’s iconic song “Jolene.”

Dolly’s Joleans

Dolly’s Joleans features denim pieces adorned with shimmering rhinestones and other country-glam details that are inspired by the country music legend’s iconic style.

“It was just a no-brainer to collaborate with Khloé Kardashian and Emma from Good American, and then with a great name like Joleans jeans,” Parton, 79, told People Magazine. “I mean it was just a win-win situation all around. Also, to have that girl power to say, ‘Okay girls, let’s just do something special,’ and I think we did.”

“I think this collection shows my personal taste as my country-girl self, and through the years I’ve worn gingham and denim and all the things that we have in our collection,” she continued. “I love the sparkle, I love the rhinestones that we have.”

Parton’s Closet Inspired Dolly’s Joleans

Parton went on to say that her own closet was used to draw inspiration for this brand.

“I think that people will sense that,” she added. “I think that everybody will agree that they’ve seen me wear this type of stuff before, but Good American has perfected it, and I think we’ve got a wonderful collection.”

Dolly’s Joleans include items that are sold from $64 to $229. The sizes range from 00-30, XS-5X, and the pieces are “designed to make you feel like your best self.”

“I want women, when they put on Dolly’s Joleans, to think, ‘Ooh, I feel good in these,’ then to turn around and look and say, ‘My butt looks good in these,’ because it does,” Parton explained.

“They’re not padded. There are no lifts in them, but the way that they’re stitched and the pockets and fabric, they make any butt look good, especially if you’ve got a good butt, they look great,” she concluded. “If you’ve got just an okay butt, they still look great.”

Parton’s Husband Passes Away

This comes at a difficult time for Parton. Her beloved husband Carl Dean, who she’d been married to since 1966, died on March 6 at the age of 82.

“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together,” Parton said hours after his death. “Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.”

Parton issued a follow up statement days later indicating that she’s leaning on God during this tragic time.

“This is a love note to family, friends, and fans. Thank you for all the messages, cards, and flowers that you’ve sent to pay your respects for the loss of my beloved husband Carl,” Parton, 79, wrote on social media. “I can’t reach out personally to each of you but just know it has meant the world to me.”

“He is in God’s arms now and I am okay with that. I will always love you,” she continued. This was a clear reference to her 1973 hit song “I Will Always Love You.”

Parton launching her new Dolly’s Joleans venture while she continues to mourn her husband shows once again just how resilient she really is. In the end, we can all learn a lot from the way Dolly Parton lives her life!
