A mansion that was once owned by the legendary Hollywood star Clint Eastwood, 94, has gone on the market for $21 million.

Eastwood’s Former Mansion Goes On The Market

The mansion is located in the California town of Carmel-by-the-Sea, which Eastwood served as mayor of in the 1980s. The property is 11,400-square-feet, and it boasts four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. The home is located one street from Carmel Beach, and it includes a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean.

The mansion was built exactly 100 years ago in 1924, and Eastwood lived in the home 1981-1996. That time period included his mayoral stint, which lasted from 1986 until 1988. To win, Eastwood had campaigned on and successfully overturned a law that outlawed ice cream cones in the town!

Eastwood also created public restrooms, constructed a library annex, and oversaw the creation of a tourists’ parking lot.

Current Owner Speaks Out

The current owner, Frederick M. O’Such, has owned the home since 1998. The mansion is currently the most expensive on the market in Carmel-by-the-Sea at $21 million.

“My family has loved living and entertaining at this iconic property for nearly three decades,” O’Such said in a statement. “Right after we purchased the home, we rebuilt the interior spaces, adding in an Arts and Crafts style by installing Mahogany wood finishes, Cherry wood floors, and other elements that were interesting to me.”

“It is time for the next owner to enjoy this historic home and share it with their friends and family for years to come,” he added.

Eastwood’s Life These Days

Born in San Francisco, Eastwood has lived in California all his life. To this day, he still lives on the Central Coast. In 2019, Eastwood and his long-time business partner Alan Williams bought 2,000 acres of land in the hills near Carmel-by-the-Sea. They were planning to develop 90 homes and then keep the rest of the land (an estimated 85% of it) untouched.

The sale of his old digs comes at a difficult time for Eastwood. Last month, he lost his partner Christina Sandera after she died of a heart attack at 61. They had been together since 2014.

“Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much,” Eastwood told The Hollywood Reporter afterwards.

Eastwood’s Final Movie

Despite being 94, Eastwood is still as busy as ever. In May, he wrapped filming Juror No. 2, which is set to be the final movie that he’ll direct. The movie stars Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, Leslie Bibb, Kiefer Sutherland, Gabriel Basso, Zoey Deutch, and Chris Messina.

“You think you’re going to get some tough guy and he is completely gentle and calm and fun and cracking jokes, and a lot of the crew members — [for example], the craft services woman has been with him for 22 years,” Messina told People Magazine of Eastwood back in December.

“He was awesome. I really loved him,” he continued. “93 years old and completely with it, great notes, up on his feet behind the camera — just a badass. It was super inspiring.”

Living in a mansion that was once owned by Eastwood truly would be an incredible experience. If you have $21 million to spare, be sure to check out this home!
