The world was stunned last week when Clint Eastwood’s longtime partner Christina Sandera died suddenly at the age of 61. Now, her cause of death has finally been revealed.
Sandera’s Cause Of Death
Sandera reportedly died of a heart attack on July 18, 2024. This was confirmed to The New York Post by a representative from the Monterey County Health Department.
Sandera’s death certificate states that her immediate cause of death was cardiac arrhythmia, which causes the heart to beat either too slowly or too quickly. Another condition that was listed as leading to her death was atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.
Sadly, an affliction all too common in modern America.
“Atherosclerosis occurs when plaques made of fat, cholesterol, calcium and other substances accumulate in artery walls,” Daily Mail reported. “Over time, the blood vessels harden and narrow, which restricts the flow of blood around the body.”
“When these plaques rupture, they form a blood clot that can further block the flow of oxygen-rich blood,” the Mail added. “Atherosclerosis is most serious when it reduces blood supply to the heart or brain, which can result in a heart attack or stroke, respectively.”

Eastwood Addresses Sandera’s Death
Eastwood, 94, announced Sandera’s death to the world hours after her passing.
“Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much,” he said in a brief but heartbreaking statement.
A spokesperson for the movie studio Warner Bros., which has worked with Eastwood for many years, spoke out afterwards to say that the Hollywood legend won’t be commenting further on Sandera’s death. Instead, he will be grieving for her privately.

Eastwood And Sandera’s History
Eastwood and Sandera met back in 2014, when she was working as a restaurant hostess at Eastwood’s hotel, the Mission Ranch, in Carmel, California. Despite their 33 year age difference, sparks flew right away, and Sandera moved in with Eastwood that same year.
The couple had been together ever since, keeping their relationship relatively private over the years. However, Sandera was a mainstay on the red carpet with Eastwood during that time. She made her red carpet debut with him at the Oscars in 2015. That night, Eastwood’s hit movie American Sniper , which starred Bradley Cooper, was up for six awards.
Sandera would go on to join Eastwood on the red carpet for his movies Sully in 2016, The Mule, in 2018, The 15:17 to Paris in 2018 and Richard Jewell in 2019.
Eastwood’s Children Approved Of Sandera
Eastwood is the father of eight children by six different women, none of whom are Sandera. Nevertheless, soon after he began dating Sandera, an insider revealed that all of the children approved of her.
“Clint’s kids have all met Christina and like [her],” the insider told US Weekly. The “kids all say she is ‘normal.’”
‘Normal’ is probably a welcome change of pace for the children of one of the biggest movie stars of all time!
As for Eastwood, the source added that he was “with Christina and happy.”
Sandera never worked in the entertainment industry. On her death certificate, her career is listed as “philanthropist.” Sandera had previously been married and divorced once, and it does not appear that she had any children of her own.
