The legendary Hollywood star Clint Eastwood, 94, has been left devastated after his longtime partner Christina Sandera passed away this week. She was only 61 years young.

Sandera Passes Away

Eastwood issued a brief heartbreaking statement on Thursday confirming that she had indeed passed away.

“Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much,” Eastwood said.

A Warner Bros. spokesperson has since told The Hollywood Reporter that no further information about Sandera’s death will be forthcoming. The spokesperson added that Eastwood will be grieving this loss privately.

Eastwood and Sandera met when she was working as a hostess at his Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, a town where Eastwood once served as mayor.

They began dating in 2014, and they kept their relationship relatively private over the next decade.

While not much was known about their relationship, Sandera was a mainstay on red carpets with Eastwood at his movie premieres during the time that they were together. Sandera first walked the red carpet with Eastwood at the Oscars in 2015. That night, his hit movie American Sniper was up for six awards.

Sandera would go on to join Eastwood on the red carpet for his movies Sully in 2016, The Mule, in 2018, The 15:17 to Paris in 2018 and Richard Jewell in 2019.

Eastwood and Sandera made their final public appearance together in 2019. They were photographed together for the last time in November of 2022, when they were pictured with Eastwood’s daughters.

Eastwood And Sandera’s History

Eastwood and Sandera never married and never had children together. Sandera, who never worked in the entertainment industry, was previously married to Paul Wainscoat in 2003 for just 11 months. Their marriage appeared to be a turbulent one, as it resulted in Sandera being arrested for domestic battery before their divorce.

Meanwhile, Eastwood is the father of eight children by six different women. He has been married twice, first to the model Maggie Johnson (they wed in 1953, split in 1964 and divorced in 1984). Eastwood then married TV news anchor Dina Ruiz in 1996, staying with her until they divorced in 2014.

Eastwood has also had longterm relationships with the late Oscar-nominated actress Sondra Locke (they were domestic partners for 14 years and made four movies together) and the Titanic actress Frances Fisher (they were together for five years and did four films together, too). In addition, Eastwood had longterm relationships with the stuntwoman Roxanne Tunis and the flight attendant Jacelyn Reeves.

Eastwood’s Final Movie

Eastwood recently wrapped filming on his last movie as a director, Juror No. 2. Though this will reportedly be Eastwood’s final film, he previously said he’d never retire.

“What the hell am I still working for in my 90s?” he told The L.A. Times in 2021. “Are people going to start throwing tomatoes at you? I’ve gotten to the point where I wondered if that was enough, but not to the point where I decided it was. If you roll out a few turkeys, they’ll tell you soon enough.”
