NXT Match Stopped After Scary Spot

WWE NXT was in the middle of taping a bout for next week when officials stopped the match.

According to POST Wrestling, Johnny Gargano and Ridge Holland were battling during a Second Chance Qualifier when Gargano landed on his head.

Several officials, including both Shawn Michaels and Triple H, came to the ring to check on Gargano. The bout took place at the Full Sail University NXT Arena.

Gargano was able to recover and complete the match. With it being recorded, the WWE will likely edit out the moment and compile it to look as if nothing happened when it airs next week.

After the match, Gargano was said to be good and even apologized for the delay in taping. He was checked over by the medical team and officials following the bump and moments after the match ended.

The 32-year-old Gargano is a former NXT champion, NXT North American champion and tag team titleholder with Tommaso Ciampa. He signed with the WWE and joined NXT in 2016 and was the first-ever NXT Triple Crown champion three years later.

Pair Of Qualifiers Highlight Next NXT

Along with Gargano and Holland, next week’s edition of NXT will also feature Finn Balor vs. The Velveteen Dream in another Second Chance Qualifier. The winners will compete alongside Bronson Reed, Cameron Grimes and Damian Priest in a five-man Ladder Match for the vacant NXT North American title at NXT TakeOver: XXX on August 22.

The event will also feature Keith Lee defending his NXT championship against Karrion Kross. Adam Cole meets former NFL player Pat McAfee and Lo Shirai puts her women’s title on the line against Dakota Kai at the card. With a nine days before the card, look for WWE to add about two or three more matches.

AEW Plans For Jungle Boy

Jungle Boy

All Elite Wrestling has major plans for the wrestler known as Jungle Boy.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW is waiting for the right time to push him to the top. That would be when fans are allowed to return to live events, Meltzer says.

Jungle Boy is currently part of the Jurassic Express alongside Luchasaurus. The pair lost to AEW tag team champions Kenny Omega and “Hangman” Adam Page during “tag team appreciation night” on AEW Dynamite.

Page and Omega earned the pinfall after delivering the “Last Call” to Jungle Boy. Therefore, the tag team champions kept their perfect record in tact.

Jack Perry, who plays Jungle Boy, signed with AEW in 2019. He made his in-ring debut during Double or Nothing that year in May.

The 23-year-old is the son of late actor Luke Perry, who passed away in 2019. He made his pro wrestling debut in 2015 and was trained by Joey Janela and Santino Marella.

During his career so far, he has been involved in some singles feuds. He battled Cody Rhodes for the TNT tile and also faced MJF. Both of those were losses, while Jungle Boy pushed Chris Jericho to a draw.
