James took to Instagram to reveal Kaepernick’s note days after the NBA announced plans to postpone playoff games in a protest over racial injustice.
Kaepernick, who started this movement by taking a knee during the national anthem before his football games in 2016, thanked James for keeping it going.
“Four years ago on August 14, 2016, I began protesting against systemic racism and social injustice. Truth is what I sought. Solidarity is what you showed me. Love is what moves us forward. Thank you for staying true,” Kaepernick wrote in the note.
James responded on social media by saying, “Standing/Kneeling right next to you brother! Appreciate you.”

The NFL Has Apologized To Kaepernick
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell doubled down on his apology to Kaepernick, saying that he wishes the league had “listened earlier” to him.
“Well, the first thing I’d say is I wish we had listened earlier, Kaep, to what you were kneeling about and what you were trying to bring attention to,” Goodell said. “We had invited him in several times to have the conversation, to have the dialogue I wish we had the benefit of that. We never did. You know, we would have benefited from that. Absolutely.”

Goodell went on to defend Kaepernick’s actual protests.
“It is not about the flag. The message here that what our players are doing is being mischaracterized. These are not people who are unpatriotic. They’re not disloyal,” Goodell said.
“They’re not against our military. In fact, many of those guys were in the military and they’re a military family. What they were trying to do is exercise their right to bring attention to something that needs to get fixed, and that misrepresentation of who they were and what they were doing was the thing that really gnawed at me,” he added.
Kaepernick Has Ruined Sports Forever
Thanks to Kaepernick, sports have now been politicized like never before.
Gone are the days when sports were a form of escapism from politics and the other evils of the world. Now, it’s virtually impossible to watch a professional sporting event without being lectured to by overpaid athletes about liberal politics and social justice reforms.
Thanks a lot, Colin Kaepernick. Thanks a lot.
