AEW’s Fyter Fest is around the corner. One of the men who has a big match is former WWE wrestler Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose).
Unfortunately, Moxley’s participation at Fyter Fest is still in doubt.
Coronavirus Scare
Moxley’s wife Renee Young works for the WWE as an announcer. Unfortunately, the couple now deal with a coronavirus infection in their household.
WWE’s measures to prevent infection amongst its staff have been lacking to say the least. As a result, several wrestlers came down with the virus.
The only person who came forward about their positive test is Renee Young, as WWE does not want to release the names despite warning from health officials. Obviously, this had an effect on Jon Moxley as well.
Since Moxley was in contact with Renee, he is likely to have coronavirus or be a carrier. AEW’s doctors are keeping an eye on him and he’s currently isolating.
Asked To Isolate Away From His Wife
Jon Moxley was asked to keep away from Renee Young. However, he didn’t think this was the right thing to do.
At the moment, Moxley and Renee Young are isolating in the same house, but in different rooms. However, this does not mean that Moxley did not catch the coronavirus.
What Does That Mean For Fyter Fest?
As it stands, Moxley has been tested for coronavirus several times this week and has negative results on all tests.
However, many people know that coronavirus tests are not always accurate. In fact, some tests only read positive on day five or eight of the infection.
If Moxley does not show symptoms and tests negative for the coronavirus, he might still face Brian Cage during Fyter Fest. However, if he does show symptoms, then AEW does have a plan B.
It remains to be seen what the promotion’s plan B is. But for now, it looks like Jon Moxley might still be attending the event.
The Dangers Of Coronavirus Going Forward
It is important for AEW to be very careful going forward. There have been numerous cases of coronavirus patients who never show symptoms, but are carriers of the disease.
If AEW decides to pull Moxley out of isolation to soon, he could still be a carrier. In other words, the people coming into contact with him could become infected with the coronavirus.
The carrier possibility does not solely apply to Jon Moxley, but also Renee Young. The coronavirus is ridiculously infectious, and sometimes for longer than the estimated two weeks.
A New Pandemic Waiting To Strike?
Then there is the problem of mutating viruses. Only recently, a new flu strain was discovered in China.
Another potential flu pandemic, this time coming from pigs, is waiting to strike the world. Scientists believe that it could be another swine flu pandemic waiting to happen.
As the world continues to be gripped by deadly flu viruses, it is vital that every business acts responsibly for the protection of its staff and the general public.
