Legendary Hollywood star Jane Seymour just marked the 22nd anniversary of the final episode of her hit show “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” by revealing what it was like working with country music legend Johnny Cash, who guest starred on the show a few times. Jane Seymour also dished about the on- and off-screen chemistry between Dr. Quinn and her unforgettable beau Sully, played by Joe Lando.

‘Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman’ Reunion

Fox News reported that the 69 year-old actress took this walk down memory lane during a Zoom call with her fellow cast members:  Joe Lando (Byron Sully), William Shockley (Hank Lawson), Chad Allen (Matthew Cooper), Shawn Toovey (Brian Cooper), Alley Mills (Marjorie Quinn), Frank Collison (Horace Bing), Henry Sanders (Robert E.), Jessica Bowman (Colleen Cooper), Jonelle Allen (Grace) and Jason Adams (Preston Lodge).

During the ‘Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman’ reunion, the members of the cast discussed their favorite memories of working on the show, which is how Seymour started talking about when Cash signed on to guest star in the role of Kid Cole.

Jane Seymour Remembers Johnny Cash

“I remember the time it was like three or four in the morning and we were filming in the little shed up somewhere and we had a pigsty,” Seymour remembered. “And [Johnny Cash’s wife] June was sitting with me and all of us in the pigsty. And she was eating her dinner off of Meissen China with George and silver.”

“And she said, ‘Honey, I’m just too old and too rich and too famous to be doing this,’” the Live And Let Die star added. “And I said, ‘Sadly, I’m not.’ She said, ‘How do we speed this up?’ And then Johnny looked at us and he took his prop guitar and he went into the set and he started serenading the crew. And they suddenly went super quiet. And they got that thing fixed super quick and they got a free concert by Johnny Cash. True story.”

Cash, who died in 2003, appeared in four episodes of “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” between 1993 and 1997.

Jane Seymour On Her Chemistry With Joe Lando

One of the best parts of the iconic period drama was the love story between Dr. Quinn and the rugged mountain man Sully, who was played by Joe Lando.

The chemistry between Seymour and Lando was palpable, but off the screen, they were just good friends who were close with one another’s spouses.

“I think the unique part about it is that his wife and I are very good friends,” Seymour recounted. “He and James are really close, and all our families, his boys and my boys, it’s a wonderful relationship we all have. We’re really close and we have a lot of miles under our belts. We’ve been through a lot, through thick and thin together… Joe and I really get along well.”
