Night one of WWE WrestleMania 36 is in the books and now we move to night two. It is another packed card, coming from the Performance Center and some remote locations. Let’s get to the report card.
Otis vs. Dolph Ziggler
Two months ago, I would have laughed if someone said Otis would be in a singles match at WrestleMania. Nothing special here and the match really needed fans in attendance for people to care.
The star was Mandy Rose after she delivered a low blow to Dolph Ziggler. Otis secured the win and finally got that kiss from Mandy.
Honestly, the match was better suited for SmackDown. The biggest question is who is responsible for these ‘truth will set you free promos.’ Grade: C

WWE Championship: Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre
Like any Brock Lesnar match, you knew it would only involve a few moves. We witnessed a bunch of F5s from Lesnar and several claymore kicks from Drew McIntyre.
I feel bad for McIntyre as he worked so hard to reach this point in his career and nobody was there to help enjoy the moment. Grade: C

Liv Morgan vs. Natalya
Night two of WrestleMania opened with Liv Morgan and Natalya. We had a rookie against a veteran of the women’s division.
They both seemed like faces, but Natalya also mixed in some heel tactics. You could tell the difference in skill level as Morgan is still green.
WWE must see something in Morgan, giving her the win. I am glad both ladies got a chance on the card.
Although, it is strange that WWE did not toss both in the SmackDown Women’s Championship match.
My only guess is about the laws that limited the number of participants inside the ring at once. Grade: C+

RAW Tag Team Championship: Street Profits vs. Angel Garza & Austin Theory
A cool factoid was everyone in the match was making their WrestleMania debut.
As for the Street Profits, they are entertaining with or without a crowd. Nothing special here, but Angel Garza was impressive.
If properly used, Garza seems like someone who could be a big star. The post-match beating was something we did not see all of WrestleMania.
Perhaps, Bianca Belair is now on the main roster. Grade: B-

Aleister Black vs. Bobby Lashley
The match was unique as there was no build between Aleister Black and Bobby Lashley.
It was nice to see Lana back at ringside, although she basically stood there for the first half of the match.
I must note, she looked like Carmella with the brown hair. Not a bad match at all. It was simply lacking any storyline.
Without a storyline, even the best match feels off. I would not mind seeing the feud continue.
Lashley knocked and Black answered with a victory in his WrestleMania debut. Grade: B-

SmackDown Women’s Championship: Bayley vs. Lacey Evans vs. Naomi vs. Tamina vs. Sasha Banks
The match seemed like nothing special on paper, yet all five women delivered.
Sasha Banks and Bayley working together was a great strategy.
We do not see much from Tamina, but she looked good in the elimination match.
After some miscommunication, Banks was sent packing.
It appeared Bayley might have sacrificed Banks. In the end, Bayley retained thanks to Banks.
The longtime friends made sure the title did not go anywhere. Grade: B

Firefly Fun House Match: John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt
Unlike Undertaker vs. AJ Styles in a Boneyard Match, the Firefly Fun House was designed to be full of gimmicks.
Somehow, John Cena was transported to an alternative timeline.
I do not think anything could prepare me for what we witnessed.
We saw Cena battling himself. If anything, the craziness took my mind off what is going on around the world.
Titus O’Neal was right, as I do not have words what I just saw. Grade: B

Last Man Standing Match: Edge vs. Randy Orton
What a shame that after nine years, Edge’s return to singles action had no fans present.
A Last Man Standing Match needs fans present to count along.
Easily, Edge vs. Randy Orton was the most personal feud. After all the animosity and hatred, I found myself bored.
After everything, Edge should have hit like three conchairtos. One for each member of his family. Grade: B

NXT Women’s Championship: Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair
Such an historic moment as this marked the first time an NXT Championship was defended at WrestleMania.
A year ago, Rhea Ripley was mostly known to just European fans as part of NXT UK.
Now, she is challenging arguably the biggest female star of the past ten years.
Charlotte Flair kicking out of Ripley’s finisher within minutes was a questionable decision.
Like Ric Flair, Charlotte worked on the knee of her opponent.
At one point, I thought the referee would stop the match. Good performance by Ripley and NXT just got more interesting.
Plus, Charlotte adds another notch to her list of accomplishments. Grade: B
