Chris Jericho’s Tag Partners Revealed
-Tonight is the debut of AEW’s new weekly show, Dynamite, on TNT.
One of the major bouts for the debut show was billed as a six man tag match. One one side, Kenny Omega was teaming with The Young Bucks. Opposing that trio was AEW Champion Chris Jericho, along with two mystery opponents.
Last night, on the TNT Dynamite preview, Jericho’s partners were revealed.
He will be teaming tonight with Santana and Ortiz, the team formerly known as LAX in TNA/Impact.
That six man bout is just one part of the company’s big debut show, which will go head to head with WWE’s own NXT offering airing on USA from 8PM to 10PM EST. There will be a replay of Dynamite following the live broadcast, while the NXT broadcast is shown to have as much as a 15 minute over-run tonight.
Could Jack Swagger Be Heading To All Elite Wrestling?
-College All American-and former WWE World Champion-Jack Swagger could be returning to the squared circle…but not for WWE.
Swagger (real name Jake Hager) has turned to mixed martial arts since leaving WWE. However, he’s being rumored for a possible surprise appearance on the debut episode of Dynamite this evening
This rumor is being reported by multiple sources, including Sports Illustrated.
While a surprise debut by Swagger for All Elite Wrestling might not be as big as, say, someone like CM Punk…he’s still a known performer who did enjoy a prominent run within WWE not that long ago. It might not look like an earth-shaking get for AEW, but Swagger is talented and would be a solid addition to the young promotion.
For Swagger, should he move to AEW (or possibly work AEW and his MMA schedule at the same time), it could be a unique opportunity. AEW offers a more flexible schedule, and seems to be a perfect spot for Superstars who were mis-used or under-used by WWE, which describes Swagger perfectly.
