Impact Wrestling Officially Headed To AXS TV Beginning In October

October will be a big month of change for pro wrestling fans, as Impact Wrestling has a new home.

Just like SmackDown heading to FOX next month, IMPACT! will air on AXS TV weekly following Bound For Glory on October 20 from Chicago. The program will still air globally on Impact’s official Twitch channel.

Jeff Jarrett Helped Create What Would Become Impact Wrestling

First formed in 2002 by Jeff and Jerry Jarrett as NWA: Total Nonstop Action, the promotion has had several names and owners over the years. They now operate under Anthem Sports and Entertainment.

Brian Cage is the current Impact World champion with Taya Valkyrie holding the Impact Knockouts belt. The North, a team of Ethan Page and Josh Alexander, are the current tag team champions with Jake Crist holding the X-Division belt.

Rob Van Dam, Rhino, Moose, Eddie Edwards, Sami Callihan, Rich Swann, Gail Kim, Tessa Blanchard, Madison Rayne and the X-Division are key pieces to the current state of Impact Wrestling.

Four pay-per-view events have been held this year to date, with the most recent being this past July with Slammiversay XVII from Gilley’s Dallas in Dallas, Texas. Valkyrie defended her title over Jessicka Havock, Rosemary and Su Yung in a four-way Monster’s Ball match, Cage defended his title over Michael Elgin and Callihan defeated Blanchard in an intergender match in the main event.

Two bouts have been announced for Bound For Glory with Cage putting his title on the line against Callihan and former WWE and UFC fighter Ken Shamrock taking on Moose in a single match from The Odeum Expo Center in Villa Park, Illinois.

Previously, Impact had a contract with Spike, but that ended in 2014.
