– One if the longest tenured wrestlers on WWE’s roster is Kane, having been with the promotion for over 20 years. In recent years, fans have seen less and less of Kane but he is now being advertised for some shows. According to PWInsider, Kane will work two live events: August 23 in Bossier City, Louisiana and August 24 in Lafayette, Louisiana. The second live event has his opponent listed as Braun Strowman.
These will be Kane’s first matches since November 2018’s controversial Crown Jewel event from Saudi Arabia. There, he teamed with the Undertaker in a losing effort to Triple & Shawn Michaels; who came out of retirement for the bout.
While Kane has not been in the ring, he has been busy. Last year, he was elected the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. With the 52 year old working a limited schedule due to politics, he might have increased his in-ring career. No word if Kane will return to TV as his last program was the one that led to Crown Jewel’s main event.
– All Elite Wresting (AEW) created a buzz before putting on their first show and with a few events now under their belt, they continue to impress. They still have their big All Out show at the end of the month and then attention shifts to October as they debut on TNT. We already know their first live episode of TV comes from Washington, DC and they have released more information.
The second and third episodes will also air live with the October 9 episode coming from Boston, Massachusetts at the Agganis Arena and the October 16 episode out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from the Liacouras Center at Temple University. The shows will air from 8 to 10 PM EST and there will be a pre-show that should be available via a streaming service.
More details will be announced this Friday regarding ticket prices. The first show for October 2 sold out within a few hours and there is a strong chance AEW will have some packed buildings for their first few TNT shows.
