Smackdown Live (7/30/2019): 8 pm EST
Shane McMahon opens the show via a satellite feed, saying he won’t be at the show tonight and he knows that the fans will be upset by this. They all cheer. Shane reminds everyone that he has gotten exactly what he wants. He has his match against Kevin Owens at SummerSlam, and if Owens loses, he will quit. Shane smiles before the feed ends.
We know you are all going to be very disappointed, but @shanemcmahon will not be on #SDLive tonight. pic.twitter.com/W5lRrhsf7f

Kevin Owens then walks out to the ring. Owens mockingly says that he and the crowd will just have to get through this night without Shane as part of the show. Then Owens gets reals and says that tonight can now actually be about what it’s supposed to be about, instead of Shane’s “stupid face”. He says that at SummerSlam Shane will finally realize that he doesn’t belong in that ring with people like Owens. And he will realize that this is the Kevin Owens Show. At this, Drew McIntyre’s music hits and out comes the Scottish Psychopath.

Sami Zayn cuts a promo about how sad Aleister Black is, hiding in a dark room begging for a fight. Zayn says Black doesn’t come out to the set and challenge people normally because he’s afraid the bright lights will expose him for what he really is. Zayn wants to help that along and says he will take Black up for a match at SummerSlam.
It seems @SamiZayn wants to "end the hype" of @WWEAleister, and he wants to do it at #SummerSlam… #SDLive pic.twitter.com/psYKrMwKdI

Jerry “The King” Lawler comes out for a special Hall Of Famers’ edition of King’s Court. His guest tonight is fellow HOFer Trish Stratus. They start to talk about how a lot of the legends at the Raw Reunion Show talked backstage about wishing they could come back and have that one last match. King asks Trish if she feels a similar way. Trish says WWE is in her heart and soul, but she’s a mom now and she kind of has that responsibility resting on her these days. Before she can continue, Charlotte Flair’s music hits and she comes out.
Charlotte says it’s a disgrace to hold King’s Court without a proper queen. And also, how could there be a SummerSlam show without the best female superstar of any era on it yet (referring to herself). Charlotte then demands that King hold the ropes for her while she enters the ring. She then accuses Trish of making excuses for not returning to the ring. Lot’s of people are moms, Charlotte says. The crowd chants, “One more match!” Trish shakes her head and Charlotte’s comments look to be getting to her.

Charlotte says she gets it. The women are not longer sex objects, they are legitimate athletes and Trish doesn’t think she can hang. Trish says she respects Charlotte’s abilities, but right now “You’re just being a b-tch.” She tells Charlotte there would be no trail to blaze without her, and to “be the woman, you have to beat the woman.” Trish says if Charlotte wants a match at Summerslam, then she’s got it. The two eye each other down intently.
