Whoopi Goldberg Humiliated As She’s Accused Of Farting Live On ‘The View’

Whoopi Goldberg has been humiliated after she was accused of passing gas during Wednesday’s episode of her ABC talk show “The View.”

Daily Mail reported that disturbing video of the alleged fart shows Goldberg being thrown off her talking points by something that appears to be physical. 

“That was gas,” she confessed afterwards.

Social media exploded with users losing their minds over what they had just witnessed. 

“Wait did Whoopi just fart on national tv #TheView,” one person tweeted, with another adding, “Ughhh!!! Spare me. Wait! Did Whoopi just pass gas?”

“That was gas!” a third user wrote in agreement with Goldberg.

Others, however, claimed that the “gas” with a burp rather than a fart.

“She burped. They are soooo loud and talking over each other,” someone commented.

Goldberg’s Previous Fart Allegations

This isn’t the first time that Goldberg was accused of farting on “The View.” Just a few weeks ago, the hosts were visibly stunned when a loud fart-like noise interrupted their show, according to The Sun. After the noise was heard, co-host Sara Haines got up from her chair and exclaimed “Whoopi!” as co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin laughed awkwardly. 

“Whoopi spilled water and now it’s on my pants,” Haines blurted out, with Griffin adding, “Oh. We had a little spillage on the other side of the table.”

Social media users were unsure if the noise was someone passing gas, or just Haines moving her chair. 

Back in 2014, something that was described as “fart-gate” occurred on the show. On that occasion, the women were talking about flu shots when a toot that sounded like a fart came from Goldberg, who rose from her chair and shouted, “Excuse me! Oooh, oooh!”

“There was a sound effect that we had never heard before,” Goldberg explained. “I’m thinking, ‘Damn, that’s weird, what can I do?’ Oh, I know! I’m gonna pretend I let a little something go. As a joke.”

“Some on the internet did not believe the hot air about… hot air,” she added. 

The singer Ashanti, who was appearing on “The View” as a guest that morning, replied by saying, “that’s the flu shot, that’s what it does to you!”

Calls For Goldberg To Be Fired

This comes at a difficult time for Goldberg, as calls are continuing to come in for her to be fired for repeatedly saying that the Holocaust was not about race. At the time of this writing, a Change.org petition has garnered nearly 47,000 signatures from people demanding that ABC cut ties with Goldberg. 

“Whoopi has made numerous remarks about race that have ruffled feathers,” the petition states. “But her most recent comment attacking victims of the holocaust and the entire Jewish community are disgusting. Apologies are not enough when it comes to things like this, This can and will not be forgotten.”

“We as Americans demand that she be fired from the daytime tv show ‘The View’ for her repulsive verbiage and actions,” it continues. 

Whether Goldberg farted or burped on yesterday’s show, it certainly was not classy. It remains to be seen how much long ABC will think it’s worth keeping such a messy liability like her around.
